my team and I are wanting to do a cold-war/nuclear fallout theme at Blanding
we could pick up some cold-war style, two-eye, soviet gas-masks ($5-$10 on ebay), and retrofit them over our pball masks

The big problem, i know, is that they are not ASTM certified, so i am thinking, how could i get one of those onto a pball mask???


just think of how sick it would look to see one of those poking out a window and looking around,

Would that thing be flaming hot? I saw an airsoft guy that made one out of a cheap JT mask and a painting respirator. It looked cool but, his main complaint was the mask was way too hot.

from experience the 2 eye holes will seriously mess with your vision since it's a few inches away from your face. I suggest rigging a "mouth cover" & goggle lenses that appear like they have a double lens set-up

my other idea was to rig up a gas mask to be ASTM certifiable
but that'll be alot more labor intensive, good summer projet tho!

if I may; lets take arkhams_finest80 idea one step further. Get a hold of that perforated vinyl stuff that you can slap onto your lenses(comes in diff patterns). Get a solid coloured one. Cut two circular holes in it before you stick it on. This way from a few feet away it looks solid BUT you still have good vision thru it..am I making sense ?
and heck why not add a fan or two on the air filter areas. Its extra room why not use it ?

do it well and you'd end looking like "Strelok" from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game !

i might go for a futuristic mix, just for fun

btw, my idea of getting the mask ASTM certified has been crushed. It costs $45 just to see the pdf with the requirements
