Hello all.

I want to buy a cheapish mask as a backup for my new Profiler. I also want something that can be lent out to friends that want to give paintball a try, as well as trying to get my girlfriend to play.

I was looking around, and I think I am going to settle with another VForce mask. I have had good experience with the Pro Vantage, which I am selling (modded it and posted in this forum), and the Profiler is amazing.

I am trying to decide between the Armor and the Shield. I would like to get a Morph, but I don't think I can justify buying another pseudo-Profiler, especially in terms of price.

Does anyone have any experience with these masks and would like to lend a hand. I can get an Armor delivered to my door for $30 CDN, so I am leaning towards that. Is the Armor any good?

The two things I am looking for are:

- (Lack of) Fogging
- Protection

Of course, if anyone can name a better mask that is not a VForce, by all means, post it.

I have her5ad good things about Switch FS's. I believe Proto makes them.

The EL's are not that great, but I have heard good things as well about the FS's. Problem is, cheapest price I can find, they are $42.95 US + $20 US shipping. For that price, I could just buy a Morph in Canada.

I have a protoswitch FS and i love it... it blows all the other cheap masks out off the water...
i think you can get them for iike 40 bucks...

^I can get the Cyprus for relatively cheap, but I there are not many reviews, and pbreview is barely reliable at best. Like I said, best price so far on the FS is $75 CDN delivered. I was hoping for around $50 CDN (~$42 US) total. This IS a backup, remember.

Idkfa, my suggestion would be to buy another profiler mask like the one you have already.

When I play, I have two of the same style and color mask (Proto FS) in my van. I play with one until I get too much spray or outright goggled so I have to clean it. While that one is drying, I use the other mask. By doing this, I always have one fresh mask ready for my game play.

If I’m playing with a friend/new player, I’m not playing with the same intensity that would require an immediate fresh mask, so I would lend them my second mask.

You should judge your value of the mask by; how often you will actually lend it out vs. how often you would use it yourself, to help make your decision.

I'm thinking of getting a JT Flex 7 thermal as a backup set to my profiler.

Does anyone have any comments about those?

Problem is, the money in my paintball budget at this time will not support a new Profiler. I may go with the Armor. This would be used every now and then as a lender, and maybe a few times when my girlfriend may play.

Any more ideas?

Get the Shield. It has the better lens and they can be swapped between it and your existing Profiler. However, check eBay and the like to find cheap Morphs.

^I really do want a Morph... they look really good, and I am assuming the view is the same as the Profiler.

I should be able to get one for about $60. I will have to wait until I sell my current backup; I could justify buying a cheap mask before securing the money, but if it is the same price as I am selling it for, I will have to hold on a bit longer.
