help me choose a new mask..

i know this isnt in the proper section but this area gets more hits...

so i need a new mask cause i sold all my gear in the winter and need to start all over

i've used jt ever since i got into paint ball when i was 14 or so.

my last mask was a flex 8 and seemed alright. it was a mask and just that

now i've never tried on any other mask before except when i was a newbie and had a rental mask and i cannot even tell you what make, model or how it felt.

i'd like to try out a new goggle system and i have my eyes on the new
vforce grill in solid black.

http://images.actionvillage.com/inc/...75,300&cvt=jpg

any thoughts on this mask, is it more set up for speedball or is it fine for woodball/scenario playing

Re: help me choose a new mask..

i've never worn the grill but I've had my vforce morph now for almost 2 years, i love it, had a JT before that and I'll never go back. way easier lens removal system, soft rubber panels, at least once or twice every day I play I'll get a bounce off those panels where with any other mask(in that price range at least) the ball would have broken
Vforce all the way.

I like the Empire Events if you dont mind spending 95 bucks. But they look cool and I hear they are pretty comfortable.
I think my next buy would be a vforce grill. I love the black w/ black lens.

Proto/Dye make some real quality masks. I love my Proto Switch FS is awesome. I love the soft bottom and it's really comfortable. It's like it's not even there. The quick swap lenses work great too.

My vote is for the new Invision or new Proto.

V Force Profiler hands down. I've gone through a JT Spectra and V Force Vantage. The Vantage out performed the Spectra and the Profiler out performed the Profiler. Both of the V Forces have excellent anti fogging properties but the Profiler gives you more periphrial vision.

Vforce make good masks, I personally use a Proto Switch, its a nice mask, especially if you need to get to the lense.

Re: help me choose a new mask..

the grill is the way to go . has options that make all other mask obsolite
its very light has alot flex to it "read bounce to it" and comes in a varity off colors ,some of the colors are made for the woods.
i highly recomend it . i have no brand loyalty i go with what i like so im not being bias.
if your on a budget i would go with the old style JT mask still one of the best mask out .

Re: help me choose a new mask..

I would reccomend against a DYE mask for one simple reason: the lens is a HUGE pain in the arse to remove.

I own the Dye i3 Invision and while it does look great and is very high quality, I nearly cut my fingers the last time I removed the lens. This is a pretty well known issue and I'm very disappointed that DYE still refuses to address this.

On the other hand, I had the pleasure of trying out the new Vforce Grill at my local proshop and the lens change is super easy. I'm told that the Vforce Profiler is just as easy as well, plus they look great.

When it comes time for me to replace the lens on my DYE, I'm gonna dump it and get a Vforce.
