Proto Switch EL and FS lense changing

Many people tout the ease of R&R of the Proto Switch lense. Is the process the same for the EL and FS?

TIA

Re: Proto Switch EL and FS lense changing

mine is easy to take apart. I have a switch el and just put the thermal lense in it. I usually take my lense out after every game.

I believe that removal & replacement is the same for both the EL and FS. I have the EL myself. Chose the hard shell due to getting a fat lip playing with a soft mask once. Once was enough.

I also have the EL and I regularly remove the lens for cleaning at the end of the day. Very quick and easy compared to my friend's JT Flex - that thing is a pain in his butt to take apart.

Re: Proto Switch EL and FS lense changing

I have the FS, just pop the clips on the strap at the ear piece and wa-la no problems. I had to replace the original lense after about 2 years due to moisture inbetween. Also if anyone plays indoor with low light conditions I would highly reccomend the yellow lense, it makes one hell of a difference... ...PG

Re: Proto Switch EL and FS lense changing

The El and Fs are basically the same helmet, just the El comes with a single lense and is made out of plastic instead of rubber. I love my FS, worht every penny

Re: Proto Switch EL and FS lense changing

Yup, it's the same process for both, and all of the Switch lenses will fit both masks. It's very quick and easy to do.

Re: Proto Switch EL and FS lense changing

Thanks for the help.

Hey another question...do you think a JT X-wind could be installed onto the Proto mask? I have one on my cheapo JT. It works great for defogging, thought maybe I was hoping to put it on whatever mask I end up getting this year.
