| Re: Automag Newb This link may help. It depends on how much you want to spend and if you are going to use HPA or CO2. Automags were the rental markers before Tippmann came along. They are a decent marker. They are somewhat of a gashog like the A5. A level 10 bolt is a good idea. An Xvalve can only be used with HPA. You can use CO2 with the A.I.R. or classic valves. If you are going to spend the money, you might as well get a Tac One and be done with it. There are also some nice Emags around for sale. Only marker capable of shooting electro and then mechanical with the flip of a switch. You might want to check MCB, AO, or PBLegion. Those are a few of the places to find some nice mags. Bodies can be switched without changing anything. There is ULE, PF, Dallara, and others to suit your taste. RT pro is a nice starter mag. Similar to a RT on a Tippy. You use an adjustable and jack the pressure to 900-1000 psi. You can really make the trigger bounce. That is what I started with. Anything else just ask. Happy hunting! |

| Re: Automag Newb You may also want to look into a barrel with double nubbins. mine only has one and every now and then i get a double feed and shoot 2 balls.

| Re: Automag Newb Yeah on the automags forum you can find good deals for automags. Used Tac-One's go for about 400$ usually. If you want the Mag that can be switched from electro to mechanical, you need and X-Mag. Simmy952 said an EMag, but I am pretty sure an Emag is an electronical mag and X-Mag is both (electro and Machanical) I know someone who has an X-Mag and that is what he has. But and Emag is around 500-600 used.. and a X-mag is around 800-1300 used as they don't make them (Xmag) anymore unless you contact some guy (Tunaman) that can make one($$$$$). So I would go with an rt mag with a level 10 bolt and the xvalve is really nice also. But it might come up to 350 used... but Look around the automag site and there are alot of people selling them. You can also get a classic automag for like 200$ And some of those have level 10 bolts. P.S. I got myself a Tac-One a month ago and love it... never looked back and now I am into automags ![]()

| Re: Automag Newb You can usually find some decent deals on eBay as well. Those will typically be classic 'mags, but they're a good place to start. If find one you like and want to upgrade to a vertical feed body later you can sometimes find ULE bodies as well. That's the great thing about 'mags. More often than not you can build them up to suit your tastes just by finding the right parts.

| Re: Automag Newb The Tac-One is a type of Automag, so it's an automag that you want as a Tac-One. You can have some upgrades.. like a warp feed body (the feeder on the right or left side) But this requieres a Qloader or a Warp feeder that you can find on the airgundesign internet site. A Tac-One is R/T. One upgrade alot of people have with a Tac-One is a ULT (Ultra light Trigger) This will demand less power for a pull. The stock trigger is 2 lbs trigger pull and the ULT is like 12 Oz or something close to that. So if you want to ''walk'' the ULT is a good thing. As for accuracy, it's really good. It comes with a J&J 2 piece barrel that is really good. You could really keep the stock barrel on that marker. If you have any other questions, please ask away I will answer as best I can ![]()

| Re: Automag Newb I have a Evo 3 hopper and a revy hopper.. both work perfectly. You can use a normal non electronc hopper if you want ... but an electronic hopper will help with fastes shooting.IMO, the Tac-one is in another level than the A5. I used a freak kit on my A5 and on my tac-One... and the Tac-One wins by a long shot ![]() The X-valve on the tac-One is like a regulator and it helps consistency ALOT... you will not get a drop off when shooting faster. Actually.. the faster you shoot.. the better the Xvalve works As the air gets hotter in the valve and the guns shoots a little faster (FPS)As for accuracy, well consistency determins accuracy, so IMO the Tac-One is much better. FYI, I was looking at Tac-One's for a while and I was saying thatit was not worth it and all. Well one day I decided to get one.. and I was really impressed. The Tac-One is much less noisy... The only thing with Automags is.. they are gas hogs.... more then an A5. Under 700-800 PSI.. your gun will not shoot. But its just great ![]() I would suggest trying one if you can. Because for me.. I loved it.. but I cannot talk for everybody ![]()
