Rap4 Desert Eagle

Hey there, does anyone know anything about this upcoming pistol aside from what is on the Rap4 site? I am looking for a pistol but I refuse to buy one that uses disposable co2 canisters. I also don't really want to run a remote line from the end of it either.

From what I've read, the Rap4 Desert Eagle comes with a refillable built in co2 tank good for 30 rounds. This is the main reason I'm interested in it. Although, I've got a soft spot for the Desert Eagle from my CounterStrike playing days!

Their site says it's been delayed from shipping until 2009 and I wouldn't buy one until I've read reviews and find out just how good it is.

Thanks!
~Frosty.

Re: Rap4 Desert Eagle

There is NO real accurate shot count of the mini refillable co2 canister.

CO2 is measured by WEIGHT not volume, and so it will NOT be reliable.

Get a Tac-8 or 12g one and be content. the refillable mini CO2 canisters is a gimmick.

I know because I am a RAP distributer, and dont want to see wasted money

Thanks for the heads up Sideshow. I'll definitely wait until I've heard people's experience with the refillable co2. I hope that it is more than just a gimmick but you're probably right on the money on that one.

Re: Rap4 Desert Eagle

1. How exactly are these things refilled? A special fitting and a remote?

2. Why don't you like the disposable CO2 cylinders? They're cheap and easy to use. And i'm not 100% sure, but it seems likely that they can be recycled.

You connect a filling adapter to any standard co2 tank and you press it into the co2 chamber with a kind of pin valve. Similar to that of the refillibable butane lighter refill kits if memory serves me right. It is also suppose to be a regulated fill.

I generally try to have as little impact as possible on the environment I'm playing in. Even though I play paintball I want to leave the forest as it is. (first question I asked when getting into paintball was "is the paint biodegradable and edible?" I didn't want to leave anything behind that would be there for hundreds of years or potentially harm an animal. I see those disposable cylinders on the ground when I play Outlaw Woodsball. Seems a waste to make a container like that only to use it once. Not sure on recycling them. The facility that does the recycling would of course have to accept them and each one is different.

I also really like the idea that I'm wasting less and financially speaking not paying for "packaging" every time I need more air is sweet!

Re: Rap4 Desert Eagle

Who's going to refill those canisters for you anyways? The store you bought them from?

I don't think fields or stores will touch those things, i don't like the looks of them. Get a dump pouch, throw the empty 12 grams in there and recycle them when you get home

read a couple threads up, there is an adapter to put on one of your marker CO2 bottles to refill with. you dont actually go to a refill station

Re: Rap4 Desert Eagle

The canisters are actually not filled by a proshop or fill station.

@ 1:50 they get into the rechargeable canister.
