Yeup, I'm back with my final vs thread. Which marker do you think is the best and why? The Etek Ego is $50 more than the alien remains and I'd be willing to frok up the extra cash if it's really worth it.

Again, Alien Remains gets it for me. The E-tek is an "Ego-lite" and does not come with all of the bells and whistles of the Ego or the Remains. The E-teks are Eclipses way of selling new guns that work just the same as old guns at higher-than-old-gun prices. I've only held one and shot paint in the chrono area but it did not impress me at all. Same Ego feel, same Ego accuracy (which is not impressive by my standards, though I have not shot an 07...). You would be able to pick up an 06 Ego used with tons of upgrades for the same price as an E-tek new. Again, I have never liked Ego's for many reasons: their efficiency, their shot patterns, or their reliability and for me the E-tek is no different than the other Ego's before it, though I would like to try out an 07 when I get a chance. The Remains just hits the mark on everything by my standards and like I said before, if it wasn't for my Viking then I'd be headed to Aliens.

I personally dont like eteks, there just like low quality egos. everything that makes an ego impressive, they dont have.

You're going to have to qualify that statement. I've never found Egos to be particularly "reliable" in any sense of the word.

er, I have to disagree strongly with several statements. the ego was the finest marker I owned. and the most reliable. the thing of it being inefficiant is nonsense. with a marker as sofisticated as the ego, you have to spend some time tuning the thing. you dont buy a ferrari, and leave it at pep boys for repairs. or would you. with a 48/3000 I shot over 900 rounds consistantly. played and won tournies with no problems at the crono station ever,or breakdowns. thats reliability. my 05 ego is still being used by a hardcore tourny player. I vote for planet eclipse

Personally the owner of alien is pretty crazy judging from some of the statements he made. Don't know how it reflects upon the actual marker quality, just something to think about.

Ego's are known for their efficiency and durability that is why they are one of if not the most widespread tournament markers in existence. The etek is cheaper because it removes alot of the unneccesary bells and whistles from the ego family and gives you what you need to perform, nothing more, nothing less.
