When I'm sitting and straighten my leg (either of them), it sounds and feels like i have gravel grinding in my knees...
Ha ha, sounds like me.I have tried the supplements and as well as being expensive they did me no good. Not to say they won't work for you.but in my case they did not.they also take a few months to show any results or not.I took them for 3 months at a cost of about $30 a month for nothing.Like I said that dose not mean that it won't help you.My knees were just to far gone for them to help. Good luck though. This is what happens when you are heavy and play football, baseball(catcher) and hockey.darn me for wanting to have fun.

Re: Bad Knee - Advice?

When I was playing this weekend after I hurt my knee again, I was playing back and just throwing paint, but I would get so frustrated with the team (Lot of rentals) that I would end up leading a foward assualt by casually walking towards objectives firing lol. In retrospect it must have looked pretty funny, but the idea of just sitting in the back for the rest of my paintball days is depressing

Re: Bad Knee - Advice?

I wouldn't use a brace without a dr's order. If you use a brace, and it is just some minor inflammation, the muscles that help stabilize the knee will begin to atrophy, and could end up making your knee worse. If your knee still hurts, go and see a dr. Try and rest it, but get it checked out. Pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong.

Re: Bad Knee - Advice?

I just got back from the Docs, soft tissue tear, which im glad to hear, sounds like something just doing some simple stretching would have avoided, I was afraid it was going to be something more serious. Got a few days off from work and light duty... Hopefully im good to play again in two weeks.

Bowtwo, we have similar knees haha. Several years of MA didnt help mine but it was the construction work that did most of the damage (when you couple it with me being too heavy of course which is my fault). I kinda had a feeling supplements were for the early stages, but was willing to give it a shot.

Here's to all us guys who hear and feel the "crunch" haha

Re: Bad Knee - Advice?

Have you tried reflexology? It's this pressure point treatment designed to reduce pain. I've tried it for my knee after I injured it skiing. It used to work very well for me, but it just "turns-off" pain sensors, any underlying problem will still be there after that pressure point stops working for you.

Re: Bad Knee - Advice?

And I know our mottos, since we all have the cool setups:

"I'm not running - they're still in range !!"

"Old age, experience, and treachery will win every time!!"

"I may be old, but you're out !!"
