| Re: Bad Knee - Advice? I was in a tragic sledding accident a few years ago (LOL) and I messed my knee up too. it is often stiff and sore still and im technically not supposed to walk on any uneven ground. My knee cap is completely numb and has been for years.
When ever it bothers me I just alternate ice/heat and give it a rest. Aleve is great too medicine wise.
When i first went to the doctor he gave me this brace type thing. It's like this wet suit material that you pull over your knee and it fits pretty tightly. it held my knee in place and felt great while walking, running, whatever. I played softball at the time (catcher, 1st base, and short stop) and my knee barely bothered me with the brace. The only thing that sucked about it is that you sweat a lot with it on and it tended to smell after awhile... lol. Wash it up and youre good to go.
I'll try to find it and see what brand it is? I haven't worn it in awhile since I've just gotten used to the way my knee feels.
If you've got any hip, thumb, hand, elbow problems.. I got those too! |
