would this help?

I am looking to lose some weight and get my endurance up. I get a free membership to 24 hour fitness through my work and figure i might as well use it. Now i have gone before and I am not a huge fan of using the machines there but don't mind doing the cardio stuff (treadmill, bike, stairclimber, etc...)
Now my plan is to go in the morning after i get off work and spend 2 hours doing strictly cardio. Going home and going to bed ( i have two little ones i watch well my wife goes to work so this is my only time to sleep) after getting up finding some time to work out on my bowflex. would this be a good plan to stick to? I am limited to only 2 hours at the gym also cause of my sleep and kids situation.

Re: would this help?

2hours is all you need per day on a treadmill/eliptical/cardio whatever. Your bowflex is toning your existing muscle mass and your cardio is making good use of your toned muscle mass.

While it's good you have found your happy-medium in what you are looking for in physical exercise you may want to do an alternation work out schedule. Trainers do it, Arnold does it, Evander Holyfield and even George Foreman and Joe Frazier did it. It just plain works.

Give yourself about 2 days rest from exercise then go to the next exercise you have planned.

Kinna like this

Monday, Cardio

Tues/Wed, Rest

Thursday, Bowflex

Friday/Sat, Rest

Sunday, Cardio

Mon/Tues, Rest

Wed, Bowflex

I think you will find that you can do more with this method as you will be fully refreshed and you won't be so sore.

Re: would this help?

Doing weight training AND cardio will help you lose weight faster than just doing strictly cardio
