| Welcome!!! We all spend so much time prepping our guns and our gear prior to a game. We want our equipment to be in top shape so that when we hit the field our game play/fun is maximized. Well, this section has been started to discuss the other important pre-game prep.......eating and exercise. I'd like to be the first to welcome you guys to a new section here on the OG. OPT, or Operator Personal Training. This section is your place to come to learn and share info on Food and Fitness. Let this be a place where we can discuss and share basic pre-game chow recipes/ideas. Bring your fad fitness questions here and let's talk and google and talk some more and help each other to steer clear of those less than safe new "miracle supplements", or fitness regiments, etc. Gotta routine that has worked for you and is so simple that someone in terrible shape or someone just beginning a fitness lifestyle could pick up.....share it. Have a routine that is complex and more for advanced gym rats......bring it! I'd love to see everything from the carb conscious to the carb care-free on this sub-forum. All those from the well muscled to the guys who've graduated from six-pack abs to a keg (hehe....i'm only at "party ball"...for now). So guys and gals.......Welcome to OPT! * Who's down with OPT? Yeah you know me!! You had to know that was coming.....LOL!!

| Re: Welcome!!! I just sit around all day drinking beer and eating all the fried foods I can. ![]() Seriously though, good idea. I will pop my head in now and again to see what is going on or to contribute in some way.

| Re: Welcome!!! This is a good idea. The only place I ever see fitness mentioned in relation to paintball is in SPLAT magazine. They typically have a fitness and food article every month. Not to mention the fact that they have a pretty devoted woodsball section as well.

| Re: Welcome!!! This would be a great idea because I can learn something that can maximize my fitness level. Right now, I am working so hard to stay fit for the summer. I run four to five times a week and weight lifting. I also watch what I am eating. No fast food or fried food. ![]()

| Re: Welcome!!! I'm planning a hiking trip in August on The Appllachian Trail. Prior to that I was not so up to date on the fitness scene. Now I'm spending a minimum of 3 days a week at the gym doing cardio and light weight training. I've worked up to 40 minutes on an eliptical trainer. The benefits will hopefully translate into less huffing and puffing on the paintball field and less bulge to battle. By establishing the habit then maybe I can better maintain my fitness. The key I think is to find something that will be a catalyst for getting one off their duff and doing something to improve their fitness. |

| Re: Welcome!!! cardio is the key. active sports (running swimming biking) for no less than 1/2 an hour will really get your body in shape. try to do an hour at minimum though. At 1/2 an hour your body only really starts to burn fat cells |
