Re: Just got Palmers Brass but not very accurate

First time I shot my 12" Palmers Brass Barrel, the balls went flying in different directions. The accuracy was way off compared to my Apex barrel and I was pretty choked at first. So I went to a local paintball shop shooting range, I adjusted the velocity to roughly 275 - 285 fps, connected a remote line to an HPA and it shot pretty friggen good!

My A5 is stock with an RT, no internal or cyclone upgrades. People seem to be getting different results... I guess its really the luck of the draw with the barrel.

Do you know of a more up to date chart on paintball sizes?

Ugh, after reading this I'm now thinking that I should order a .685 bore. But, i was set on .690 when I saw that it was voted like 70 to 20 against the .685. If only someone out there could compare the two with assorted paint brands.

Re: Just got Palmers Brass but not very accurate

Update*

I went paintballing again. This time with my HPA working and using Recon paint. I did the paint test with the barrel and it stopped in the beginning and blew through.

Results.

I am still not very impressed with the brass. My shots were more accurate this time but not at all ball on ball.

Re: Just got Palmers Brass but not very accurate

I thought I was alone.

Bought a PPS 12'' barrel, about 2 months ago. Went out one Saturday, did the paint test, and noticed that the accuracy was decent, at best. Some balls flew out of path, but most balls were heading for my target.

Following Saturday, went out to play again, trying different paint (also passing the paint test). Once again, shots were decent on accuracy, but FAR from 'ball on ball'.

Alot of hype in this forum about this barrel, though I don't see why now that I've tried it. Great craftsmanship though by PPS in producing these barrels, but I was expecting good accuracy. Guess this barrel doesnt fit me (and the BRASS god ISN'T on my side), but for anyone who is in the market for a barrel, give this one a try and see if your results vary from mine.

Re: Just got Palmers Brass but not very accurate

HPA and a 12" ported Palmer brass shoots quite well with Nelsons Hemorrhage. However, HPA and a 12" Lapco Big shot shoots Hemorrhage just as well, and the only difference I notice is that brass is heavier than aluminum and the Palmer is quiter.
