| Just got Palmers Brass but not very accurate Hello all I'm new to the forums. Great info here. I did some searching on upgrading my stock A-5 Barrel, and finally decided on a 12 inch .690 non ported Palmers Brass. The day It came in the mail, I tried the roll/blow through test with 5 different paintballs: Stingers, Big Ball, Origin basic, Visible impact, and some unknown field paint. All of them dropped straight through with out catching in the start of the barrel. This weekend I took it to the field to play. I shot mostly Visible impact and Origin. I'm using HPA and shooting around 280fps. My accuracy was very poor, i found myself shooting tons paint to try and hit easy targets. I cant say I see much of an upgrade in accuracy from my stock barrel, which has left me disappointed. I thought one of the perks of the brass barrel was it being accurate with different types of paint. After reading so many good reviews....Am I missing something? I am now debating on buying a 2 piece J&J kit. |

| Re: Just got Palmers Brass but not very accurate Well, first let me say that I am not a Palmer's Brass user and generally don't buy into hype (unless, of course, it is Lapco hype, lol). BUT, that being said, .690 is a rather large bore and IMHO, if your paint is dropping straight through, you can't expect any kind of decent accuracy. I'd have to say that it is more an issue of the bore size and not the barrel itself.

| Re: Just got Palmers Brass but not very accurate palmers offers .690 or .685 barrel bores. you can get something in the middle but then you'd pay for time on a lathe. i'm a palmer guy, but i've never had a barrel for an A5. were there wedgits in your barrel? i know some barrel types can't get wedgits. my blazer barrel is a .690 w/ wedgits and can accurately and consistently shoot as small as .684 paint... |

| Re: Just got Palmers Brass but not very accurate I also use brass. I would say that the issues you are having are because of the poor paint to barrel match. .690 is very large for today's small paint standards. You do not want the wedgits with an A5 barrel. Personally, I would keep the brass and use a Python compression system. The brass mainly gives the ability to shoot various types of paint without breaking. |

| Re: Just got Palmers Brass but not very accurate Hmm, I have the exact same barrel (12in, .690, Non-ported), and I have great experiences with mine. Accuracy was incredibly increased from the stock barrel, and I shoot the cheapest paint I can find. Not sure what the problem could be. |

| Re: Just got Palmers Brass but not very accurate Havent trully tested mine but did a few shots this weekend in my back yard and it was quite accurate, there was a minimum spread but i mean almost dead on, blew few balls, maybe cause gun felt like it was firing over 340FPS (just installed new springs and a RVA and FVA flush so i think its too powerfull at the momment other than that, im cite to try it on the field this next weekend, by the way i have no i dea what bore is it since i got it local for a price that was unresistable... i know its a 12" tho... |

| Re: Just got Palmers Brass but not very accurate any barrel that the paint rolls right though is going to be a problem. When paint slide right through that means its too small. If the paint it too small, its can bounce around inside the barrel and when it exits the barrel carry on with the same momentum that it had inside the barrel which would mean the paint if going to fly well off target as the paintball follows its movements inside the barrel. Try picking up some different paint, something thats a little larger in bore size. Palmer makes two barrel sizes .690 for larger and .685 for smaller paint. If you do not specify which one you want I believe its defaulted to .690 |

This is exactly why I bought the barrel. I have seen plenty of posts saying exactly this. Most people recommend the .690 bore. |
