I have finally decided its time to get rid of the stock barrel and go for some brass. I am going to get a 12" .690 barrel, but I'm not sure if I should go for black gloss powder coating or black matte. I'm guessing the gloss will look just like the stock barrel but does anyone have any pics of the matte finish?

Yea that one's better, Ghillie. Ok, now I'm leaning towards the matte black, I think it would match the receivers well and it would give the A-5 a stealthy look. Anyone have any more pics or opinions?

Definetly matte black. You do not want anything shining on your marker as it might give away your position.

Mine is matte, and it looks great.

I have the matte black and it looks more like a very dark grey. I would recommend against the glossy black. If you're going to go glossy, you may as well go chrome.

My thoughts exactly. Matte black has far less reflective properties than the gloss black, and therefore would be much less likely to attract attention due to sunlight reflecting off the barrel. Black is black, but the matte finish i see as like an added bonus. Plus, if you get the matte black barrel, it will match the a5 much better than the gloss. I've seen glossy black barrels on other a5's, and they always look somewhat "out-of-place" to me. Mind you, i'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to uniformity issues on markers.

My barrel is matte black too. The matte black matches better with the a5 since it seems to pretty much be the same color black that the rest of the a5 is. I'd recommend going matte black for sure.

I have a glossy black barrel (I bought it used). The glossy black matches your barrel adapter exactly. It's shiny and I would not recommend it. I'll be repainting mine.
