From what I've gathered, there is a conflict of how much of the barrel actually affects the trajectory of a ball. I hear 4-6", others say 8-10", and I even hear anything beyond 12-14" is a waste. Regardless of who is correct, why don't barrel manufacturers make bigger inserts? Seems like most are only a couple of inches long. The longest that I'm aware of is the Freak inserts at 5" long but even that is short by some people's standards. Why can't (or don't) they make longer inserts for whatever system they use?
