| Re: New Tippmann/Hammerhead Barrel Quote:
It may, as hammerhead is the producer of this barrel, I didn't see it mentioned here, but apparently Hammerhead and Tippmann have teamed up and created a new partnership, I am wondering if down the road, if this partnership goes good, these barrels will become a standard feature for their guns? |

Hacksaw anyone? ![]() But I think they chose to go with 16" since most woodsball newbs prefer longer barrels. (I have an 18" on my marker ATM)

| Re: New Tippmann/Hammerhead Barrel The velocity and twist rate surely would be fast enough to impart some spin to the ball. The twist rate seems very, very slow however. Whatever spin it may give the ball and weather is does anything useful is the question. I don't understand how the .690 control bore can actually fully grab smaller paint to impart a spin effect. If the paint would roll out the control bore then one side of the ball wouldn't even be "grabbed" by the rifling. |

| Re: New Tippmann/Hammerhead Barrel I think Tippmann saw a good product that happens to also impart good marketing to public ignorance and is using it to make a boat load of cash. The average person on the street buying their first paintball gun don't know about how barrels affect a paintball and just use common knowledge of bullets and rifled barrels to make associations. People walk in, grab a gun, hear about this barrel, think it'll be great, and pick it up too. In a way, Tippmann is targeting the impulse buyer. |
