I just have to ask...why does the bottom half have all those chambers?

I would assume that the ridges are to strengthen the plastic so that it doesn't break easily. The bottom of the Tip gets banged around a lot.

Two things the J&J is or is not apex ready?
and how would the apex work with the 8 inch that comes with the a-5

J&J has an apex adapter that you attach to the end.
You would have to do the tape mod for the apex tip to attach to the standard barrel.
