| Re: barrel problems I dont think the barrel would cause something like this unless something happened to the inside bore or the barrel has become warped somehow. Look down the inside of your barrel to see if it is still smooth and staight. Did you try shooting it without your apex? Is the paint your using old? |

More thoughts... What was the temp when you experienced this? Are you using CO2 or HPA? Are you sure your Apex is on tight and aligned right? |

| Re: barrel problems If your velocity is turned down to far, the balls will fall out of the barrel. If your velocity is turned up to high, the ball can deform as it's exiting the barrel and the non uniform ball will go diving to the side, or up or down. It could also be a paint issue. I've seen some wild stuff with old paint.

| Re: barrel problems When was the last time you cleaned your gun and barrel? Oil on the paint can cause it to widely change direction like that. Even if you cleaned the barrel, paint between the powertube and front bolt, or even in the cyclone, can make its way onto the ball and cause fluctuation like that. |

| Re: barrel problems I don't know if it could be a unclean gun beacause it does the same thing consistantly. someone mentioned a crooked adaptor, said it could cause balls to hit the bottom of the barrel and cause topspin. Thaks for taking the time though! |

| Re: barrel problems one of the first purchases after getting a marker should always be a chrono. You cannot safely play a game unless you know exactly how fast the paintball is moving. We cannot tell you much without you telling us your paint's speed but I might suggest that perhaps your APEX is doing the intended job but you need to raise your muzzle more. Chrono your marker to about 280 fps and try it again. Do what you did last time and see if it's stillacting up. If yes, raise your muzzle about 5 inches and see if the paint starts to climb higher. If that's the case, your APEX is working but you need to aim higher for it to do the proper job. If not, there could be some broken paint stuck in your breech-to-muzzle area, that's causing an issue for you.

| Re: barrel problems I have a rifle chrono but i am staying with some people for thanksgiving and want be able to use it for a while. It is not the apex barrel that is doing it. It happens with all my barrels. I went to tech help and they said that the adaptor may be crooked and cause balls to hit the bottom of the barrel and create topspin. |

That might be the problem you can test it by putting in the adapter upside down and see if they go the other way. I'd bet it's a scratched or dirty barrel. Or the temp. Ever our great clear paint starts having problems at 50 degrees. If it's colder than that you need winter paint like frostbite. |
