Hey. I recently got told to look at metadyne's paintball products for a gas through magazine. I went to their site and was pretty convinced. I then started looking around at other things for my A-5. I came across the 9" Knurled Hand Guard for the A5. I was wondering if this barrel shroud could fit with the stock Apex barrel? If this can be done, could this shroud also fit over the Lapco Big Shot? I am planning on upgrading my stock Apex barrel to the Lapco Big Shot with Apex tip sooner or later.

How long of a lapco barrel are you going to go with. I dont see why it wouldnt fit over the 12'' barrel.

I dont think this would fit over the stock apex.

are you sure this shroud won't fit over the stock Apex barrel?

Last I checked, it will NOT fit over the Apex. You can get the Apex to sit up flush with the end of the shroud with some barrel experimentation, but it will not slip over it. Quality made stuff though, and its really sturdy.

In the options, pick Lapco 12" and 9" SR Handguard, they are made by Metadyne for Ops Gear so they are the same item. It looks like you will have just barely enough space to put the APEX tip on it, but I am not sure.

I don't think Ops Gear stocks APEX ready Lapco bigshot though.

Just checked and the APEX tip does not fit inside Metadyne RIS handguard, and I believe RIS is the same internal diameter as knurled one.

ok. So we know that this shroud will not fit with the stock Apex barrel with the tip.

...but will this fit with the Lapco Bigshot 12" Apex ready barrel? I would think it would work because the shroud is 9" and the barrel is 12", but I thought I'd ask you guys first.

It will go past the shroud so there will be a gap between the Apex tip and the shroud.
