APEX testing?

Ok, so I have searched and wasn't able to find, maybe I just suck at searching... Anyways, has anyone tested the APEX and posted results that actually states numbers as far as the results go? Such that you keep the gun pointed at same level and fire it at a board or whatever X feet away and measure how far it curved to the left, right, how high it hit, etc... I'm trying to decide if I want to get one (currently have the flatline) but kinda want to know how effective it is looking at hard numbers... Thank you

Re: APEX testing?

I was planning on shooting a video comparing the Apex to the Flatline and a Ragular Barrel, but my broken collar bone screwed up my whole summer.

I can't offer you hard numbers for reference, but I can point you to The Ultimate Apex Barrel Thread.

All I can also offer you my experience with both the Flatline and the Apex: The Apex is not a whole lot better than the Flatline if you use the Apex with the stock barrel that it comes with. If you attach the Apex Tip to any other barrel, such as a C-Series, Bigshot, Brass, etc. it will OWN the Flatline.

The Apex set at level 4 is the same as the flatline. Levels 5-8 will allow you to shoot much father although the ball will drop almost 8 feet when it first comes out of the barrel at levels 7 & 8.

That's a really good deal!

BTW - depending on what shipping is, it might be cheaper to get it from MilSim Products. They will match(usually beat) any advertised price.

Yea, I saw that and was thinking about it. Shipping is like $6 which is reasonable. I really don't have the money to spend on it, but it is so tempting

Re: APEX testing?

Ok, I finally found a video which was pretty clear: Untitled Document

It shows cleaning and whatnot at first, but after that it then goes in to testing it at 100, 200, & 300 feet. I think I'm going to buy it, though I probably shouldn't :P Give the video a look, tell me what you think I guess.

Oh, and thanks KRA for the first link, it definitely helped

I'm pretty sure they're using the stock barrel in that video. If you get a better barrel for the Tip you will have much better accuracy. You can always buy a better barrel later if you don't have the money now.

Even if the paint doesn't break on you target at super long range, it will still scare them enough to dive for cover.

Re: APEX testing?

I had the Americans diving for cover at NJNAM with my Apex until they realized that the paint was just bouncing off! One guy even stood on the berm & dodged the incoming rounds but that was at extreme end of the range of the Apex! On the 3 or 4 setting it still gives good range & accuracy.

Yea, I think they are using the stock barrel too. I was planning on getting a different barrel for it eventually, just not now. I think next summer I'm going to get a new barrel for it as well as the upgrades for the cyclone; I'm thinking the JCS Jet Click shaft & ratchet and the rest from TechT (minus the squishy paddles, dont think I need those). And if money a regulator. For now I just have to polish the internals and then play w/ the APEX and see how I like it compared to my flatline

I once stood at the end of a field and had my friend fire some rounds at me. He was about 150 yards or so away and it was hard to see the rounds coming but they would land around my feet. Well finally i tracked a ball coming my way and was able to catch it without it breaking!!!
