Non-rotating Apex adapter?

I'm looking into replacing my Flatline with an Apex barrel, but I'm not a fan of the corner hook or drop-shots. I'll probably be attaching it for the time to my J&J Barrel by doing a Tape-X mod, and later on probably a Lapco bigshot or C-series.

I was wondering if there is an apex adapter, or a mod that can be done to a pre-existing one, that would disallow rotation of the apex tip about the adapter? I ask because I don't want to end up whacking the tip against a tree and having to waste time getting it dead vertical again.

Enlighten me?

Re: Non-rotating Apex adapter?

hey there, easiest to do would just be tighten the 4 screws on the apex nice and snug to your barrel , i know if i got one or two turns to far the adapter will not budge

Re: Non-rotating Apex adapter?

Yep, all you have to do is tighten the back two screws a little more than usual and it will snug up pretty tight. Just make sure you don't try and wrench the screws in super far, or you'll strip the plastic.

Re: Non-rotating Apex adapter?

Will this work with the Tape-X mod?

Re: Non-rotating Apex adapter?

It should, just make sure you use enough tape that you can tighten it down.

Re: Non-rotating Apex adapter?

You know, KRA...my gun is starting to look a WHOLE LOT like yours...It's not intentional, but it just is.

Not much you can do to make one A2 look different from another, though...

Re: Non-rotating Apex adapter?

Remember that if you ever do get a Bigshot, the Apex tip will not fit on the end.

Huh, I didn't know that there was an Apex-ready Bigshot. Carry on then. Although if it's in your price range, I believe that you would get even better results going with a Palmer's brass barrel.

Re: Non-rotating Apex adapter?

I believe the brass is not machined for an Apex but rather has an apex adapter slid over it.

I've heard of adapters being pulled off...so that's not something I want to chance.
