I have an Opsgear 10" and I find it too big for some of the playing style of some games I play in and have been considering to get the 6" on too. Glad to hear you like it. Plus I use the Opsgear Duska . . . nothing like a megaphone for your marker. I have a 14" J&J Ceramic, the stock barrel, and a 12" from smart parts I think and they all shoot the same buy my opinion. That is why I have just about stopped using them. |

That might be just what I need. I think I'll get one just for the novelty of it, shoot if I mach it with a freek back it would probily do well. I have a freek kit for my cocker so I just need an A5 back and some flat black paint. I have an all american back, but I think they are usualy larg bore, I'll try it, but I'm betting it would not match a palmers. Still would look a little funny off the end af a MP5.

I'd be afraid of breaking alot of paint, I think that might put alot of pressure on the ball when going quickly from a wide chamber to a narrow one. Becides I think you can get a back for under $50. I can't stand how the freek tip looks on the A5. I'm thinking about making a "silencer" to go around the exposed end of the smartparts barrel, that might flow better with the over all look of the gun.

| Re: Short barrel better then stock barel? Having played for a couple years now, I've been through a butt load of aftermarket parts. Every barrel is the latest and greatest thing, this forum is proof that everyone thinks different barrels are the best out there. I'll not be arguing with the physics and all that, but my thoughts are do what you want, adjust as needed. I've been through a stock barrel, Thunder Pig, J&J, Teardrop, Flatline, Apex, and maybe one more. After all that, I decided idc if I can hit a tree from a football field away, I don't attempt those shots on the field, so I'll buy for my play style. I bought an apex and satisfied the spectrum. Chopped the stock barrel down to just about 3 inches, wrapped the front with electrical tape, and apex'd that thing up. Now I have a compact look, easy to manuver, and I can get a pretty nice distance too. 3 clicks in on the rubber ramp and I'm nailing a nice distance. I'm more of a "make it rain" shooter than a "one shot one kill" kinda guy, so I'm a fan of guiding the rope around based on the enemys position. Plus the snub makes a killer report I'd like a sharks tooth, just to see how they shoot, but until I get motivated to get one, I'll rest easy and lay paint with the sawn off. |

| Re: Short barrel better then stock barel? I ended up buying a 10" nonvented palmers brass barrel and am very happy with it. I don't know if it's the best barrel in the world but it has to be close. It is plenty acurate and hasn't broken a ball yet.
