Straightline/HammerHead Barrel Care?

Finally, my proshop got the Straightline! Looks real nice and all, but I'm not really familiar with these types of barrels..

came with some grease, do i apply them on all the muzzle, fin and rear threads?

what kind of squeegee would you say works best with this barrel? i bought the microfiber one, but it seems abit skinny =/

and after a day of playing, do i run it through hot water? boil it?

for $150 I'd love to keep it spotless, anymore pointers would help. thanks a5og

Re: Straightline/HammerHead Barrel Care?

I also own the straightline

-The grease that came with it is just your garden-variety white lithium grease. Apply on all threads. It'll help protect them from wear and stuff apparently.

-I don't believe that squeegee type really makes a difference, as long as it gets it clean. I use rubber ones. One problem I noticed with the push-through squeegee's is that they get stuck on the inside of th stock muzzle breakwhen you're pushing them through.

-Yeah, I use hot water to clean all of my barrels, and then air dry unless you really want to try to get a towel inside of the barrel. Hot water gets all of the paint right off and won't harm your barrel.

BrandsYo, I just picked up the SL today. Hopefully it will be worth my hard earned $150. Will be trying it out on Sunday, updates and reviews the following day =)

Simple enough! Can't wait till I start field testing this weekend. I hope HammerHead won't let me down. Only thing that gets to me is the weird external finish. Thanks for the quick response bro

It has been said that plunger squeegees have difficulty cleaning the Straightline due to its rifling. You may want to use a fluffy swab instead.

The rubber is a tight fit so it expands into the rifled grooves to get all the gunk out. Using a fluffy thing afterwards wouldn't hurt though if you're in no hurry.

Re: Straightline/HammerHead Barrel Care?

The squeegee that I use has rubber on one end and is fluffy on the other. I run the rubber end in first and finish off by pulling it through on the fluffy side. Works great for me.

I love my straight line.
