Apex on Palmer Brass Questions

I'm looking into mounting an Apex tip on a 12" palmer brass (black) and was wondering what adapter is the best, and will fit the best on the barrel.

The only 2 adapters I know of are the UMS and the Palmer. I am leaning toward the UMS, but want to make sure it will fit properly and allow the Apex tip to rotate properly for all the trick shots.

Thanks.

Re: Apex on Palmer Brass Questions

The Palmers allows rotation, the UMS does not. I have the Palmers.

The UMS adapter does allow for rotation. I just ordered one for my Palmer's barrel. It will cost extra to make ($5) as it isn't a 7/8" OD barrel. Read this thread from over at the UMS. I got the UMS adapter because I trust Britt that he makes great product at the lowest cost he can and he'll stand behind his work. Also you wont see any of it outside of the APEX tip.

Re: Apex on Palmer Brass Questions

this is the hard part.

the palmer barrels are not the same size at the barrels the UMS makes the adapters to fit on. if you can accurately measure the OD of the barrel, then the UMS can make one for you at this dimensions. but you will have to realize that YOU measured it an YOU told them how to make it. if its wrong its YOUR fault. understand?

so what else can you do? the best way is to send your barrel into the UMS. then it will get a perfect fit UMS adapter for your barrel. email the UMS shop through the store home page and contact Britt about this. its probably the preferred method for him also.

Re: Apex on Palmer Brass Questions

it turns, it slices, it dices it's the RONCO APEX!!!!

You can call Palmers for the OD of the barrel, be sure to state weather it's powdercoated or plain brass, then order the Apex Adapter thru the Shop, also order a quantity of 5 of the Custom Service Rate (adds $5 to your order) and in the Comments Section, be sure to let me know what the extra $5 was for and the dimension of your barrel.

Thanks for the assist guys!

BTW, yes it does turn like the normal APEX...

Re: Apex on Palmer Brass Questions

I got the one from Palmer just because I was already ordering a bunch of stuff from there. You can get it to stay on the barrel without those goofy looking plastic screws if you wrap a single layer of scotch tape around the barrel, then push the adapter on. If I didn't already have a big order with Palmer, I'd have bought the UMS one... it seems easier and cleaner to me.

Re: Apex on Palmer Brass Questions

does anyone know what the OD of a palmers brass barrel is about?

I am asking because I want to know If I can put my diska on the tip of one.

Dishka's are made to fit 1" Opsgear barrels but also can use a 7/8" adapter to fit those sized barrel's also.

Anyone have a thought?

Did you measure that yourself? or did you get that from Palmer's? I emailed them for the OD and am yet to hear back from them.
