| Re: Looking to get a barrel kit. One thing to consider with a Freak kit ( and yes I have a full one, ) is that the inserts are versatile. If you're going to stay with an A-5 your whole paintball life, then full backs aren't an issue. But if you may be changing markers ( I'm planning on an Automag in a few months ) then different threadings can be a problem. With full backs you either have to buy another set or get a thread adapter. The adapter will add extra length to the marker and you may have trouble finding the one you need. With a Freak I can just get one new back and the whole kit transfers over with it. Also, some other systems are designed to work with Freak inserts ( I saw a T-8 kit that ran off Freak inserts. ) Not only that, but you can get just about any tip with Freak threadings, not something every other kit can claim. As for SS vs aluminum inserts, unless you're being really careless, aluminum will survive just fine.

yeah I'm still leaning towards the freak, my only concern is how well the inserts match up in the barrel, are there any gaps anywhere where a ball could break? |

| Re: Looking to get a barrel kit. An A-5 has a smaller breach than, say, a 'Cocker threaded marker so the inserts don't go all the way inside. They fit tightly on a small shelf about an inch from the threaded end. I've got a 'Cocker back as well and the inserts are flush with the threaded end, but that's because 'Cockers don't have detents so the barrel match has to act as such.
