Looking to get a barrel kit.

Ok I've decided after this weekends game that I want to get a barrel kit. Now I'm just stuck deciding on which one I want. I've got 2 picked out so far but don't know much about them.

first one is the lapco snapshot barrel kit and the other is this one

http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/...gAAAEFOhcC1MXJ
It was listed under the A5 barrels but the angel thing is kinda throwing me off. If it dose indeed fit the A5 I'm leaning more towards it because of the 16" tip since it would look better with my SAW shroud.

Any advice, thoughts, recommendations(sp? it's late)

Re: Looking to get a barrel kit.

when i brought up action village, and was looking at all a5 parts and upgrades, i didnt see that barrel kit, so im assuming that it wont fit your a5.
just as a suggestion, why not just get a palmers brass, j&j ceramic, or equivilant? most people on here swear by the palmers brass, and its supposed to shoot any paint. it would probably also save you a lot of cash over a barrel kit, and be just as good. just my 2 cents.

Re: Looking to get a barrel kit.

yeah saw that one kit on another site it is for angels, dunno why it was coming up under A5 barrels for me. Anyways I think I've decided on a freak kit. I was going to get a palmers brass but after the big game this weekend I'm hooked on a barrel kit. If you could have seen some of the shots those guys was pulling off

The Freak is a good set. I would highly recommend getting the stainless inserts if you have the extra money. You can usually get a really good deal on them used over on the nation. I still like the palmer better and I have had both the Freak and palmer.

Hold on now... how did you go from looking at those two outstanding kits, to the freak, which isn't half the barrel those are?
The snapshot and peppersticks are among the best kits you can buy, IMO.

Re: Looking to get a barrel kit.

I was dead set on getting a brass but seeing how well some of the barrel kits performed this weekend that got me thinking, it's nice to shoot what ever paint I can afford and still have good accuracy(as good as a paintball can get anyway)

on the pepper sticks, I would love to have that kit but I've only found it in angel threads so I kinda ruled that one out.(unless there is a way to get em on my a-5)

and the snapshot I think I'd be happy with since I have a bigshot and I love the sound and look of it. But the snapshot kit dosn't have as many bore sizes as the freak dose. Granted I'm not crazy about inserts, I would rather have the sized backs.

I'm still debating on what to get, just at the moment I seem to be favoring the freak kit.

Thanks for all the help so far, looking forward to your suggestions

Re: Looking to get a barrel kit.

Hit up the BST's here and on PBNation.com if you're looking for a good deal on a barrel, but you might need to pick up an autococker breach for your A-5 [they're cheap,] 'cuz a lot of the barrels you'll find are going to be autococker threaded.

Re: Looking to get a barrel kit.

Re: Looking to get a barrel kit.

Yeah, peppersticks come in AC threads. Also look into the J+J Edge kit. Had it for my Ion and it is great. I still like the freak too but the Edge is nicer because it has backs instead of inserts. You can find the Edge pretty cheap too.
