| Please help me understand, as Im a paintball noob. I bought and a-5 with pretty much every upgrade (internals, bolt, cyclone, HPA, ect.) One of the 2 things that came in this setup was a J&J ceramic and an Empire 7 piece kit. I use the empire on the field yesterday with decent results. I bought a case od draxas bronze late in the day and they shot better then the midnights. Question 1 - nobody here mentions empire, why? Question 2 - It does seem that I can get, the "far" shot off. Any assistance would be great - thank for helping "the new guy" |

| Re: Most accurate? I prefer my Hammerhead to my brass because it's lighter, looks better, and can be matched to paint sizes. I find myself using the .683 and .686 bore surprisingly often, and my brass is .690 (much too large). Brass will give you good results overall, but for different types of paint, I don't think it does as well as the Hammerhead. Also, the Hammerhead can self-clean after a break (if you've matched paint to barrel). It's amazing when you're using bad paint or when you chop a ball, you just keep firing through it. After two or three shots, the barrel is totally usable again.

| Re: Most accurate? I can only say I have owned a J&J and a Lapco. The lapco and my CP are more accurate then the J&J was. I do not suggest them.

I've actually done fairly extensive research on the subject of Brass versus Hammerhead. Basically, my results have shown that the Brass does an excellent job of being accurate at different distances, with varying types of paint, different velocities, and a myriad of other conditions. But it's not quite as good as the Hammerhead Battlestixx. It is very very competitive, but in the end, Hammerhead just comes away with the better numbers no matter how you slice it. The difference is small, but the fact remains that it is slightly better. As for the Hammerhead being self cleaning, I've not found that at all. I've actually found it to be completely the opposite. In my experience the rifling actually makes it more difficult than normal to clean in the event of a break. Not that the Brass cleans itself. It needs a squeegee too.

| Re: Most accurate? IMO, no barrel is self cleaning.
