Re: Most accurate?

If you can get the adapter at a local shop, then go for it. Otherwise with shipping and all, its probably just as cost effective to order a whole new barrel.

Re: Most accurate?

Palmers Brass, $45. Eats any paint, all the time.

Doh! The dreaded double post!

Re: Most accurate?

I'v been using my Freak kit for couple years but just bought a HH Front for it.

Going to see if there is much if any difference in performance this weekend.

Should be interesting!

Could not really determine accuracy with this setup as the union of the SP back with HH front were not concentric. Used .684 Freak insert with Visible Impact paint. Works great with the Freak front but numerous barrel breaks with the HH front. The one thing I have noticed with the Freak kit is the internal misalignment of the back and front. Sighting down the barrel from the muzzle end you can see that there is a non concentric alignment inside. None the less, it shoots very well as the complete Freak setup but with the HH front it breaks paint.

Re: Most accurate?

Thats probably because with a normal freak front, the front is having zero interaction with the paintball as the front is vastly oversized.

I agree. The Freak front has a far larger ID compared to the HH front. The .684 insert is as small as I can go with my current batch of visible impact and the HH front ID is not larger enough to compensate for the non-concentric union. This produces a slight internal "step" where the two join when viewed from the breech end. The "step" is very slight and is only about 100 degrees of the circumference inside the bore. Nonetheless, the ball is obviously catching on the step as it moves from the Freak insert into the HH front. That must be what was causing the barrel breaks. I think I'll try a complete HH kit as I'm told it is a super high quality kit.

Thanks for your response, and best regards,
Scoreshot

Re: Most accurate?

Consistant pressure and ball/barrel bore match = accuracy. Get a decent reg (consistant pressure) and a barrel kit to match ball/barrel bore. Single bore barrels will shoot paint that best fits it which is why people have different views on the same barrel. Get a good barrel with interchangable bore sizes (inserts) and you'll never have to buy another barrel again. I use a 14" Deadlywind fibur with freak inserts that cost $99 from the manufacturer, shoots great and is quiet. No reason for another barrel unless I break this one.

Re: Most accurate?

I just got a J&J edge kit, sweet deal only 100 bucks (with shipping) from action village 4 backs and a front, shoots ball and ball at 30 ft on low air, and really quiet for it being on an A5, I'll take it for a try on the field tommorow
