I didn't realize you could not buy these yet.
I've seen a few at my local field, guess they were rentals...

yeah it was exclusively a rental marker until now

If I recall correctly, Tippmann made these specifically for fields to rent out. It's biggest highlight was how easy it is to clean without ruining the internals (i.e. some fields just dunk the full marker in soap water). It was announced at around the same time as the Crossover.

if it aint dirty it aint harold

thats a good question, but I think most renters WILL NOT want to open them
just in case, I also dont think you can open it when pressurized (but i could be wrong here)

I hope they fix the lock on them... We've had 3 rentals literally blow up when the lock came loose (mechanical error or the customer unscrewing the lock). Still never found all the parts. The power tube just sits on an oring. If the gun is opened while pressurized, everything is shot out from inside. We've also had 5 ASA's break off completely, thankfully noone has ever been harmed, but one customer went home after his rental blew up in his face.

Not exactly the safest marker I've seen by Tippmann..
