Re: New Tippmann Crossover XVR

10 new upgrades, huh? Let's take a look-see:
  • New Venting On/Off ASA
I'm a fan of these, so good work.
  • New 15" Two-piece Barrel
I don't know if I would call this an upgrade, per se. If it's not a really good barrel kit, people are going to be replacing them anyways. Of course, if it is a good barrel, then it's cool to have it come with the marker.
  • New Tool-less Access to FlexValve
This is a good thing. The easier it is to acess stuff, the happier everyone will be.
  • New Tool-less battery access
    Same as above
  • New Stream-lined Vertical grip
Were there a lot of complaints about the lack of aerodynamicy on the previous model? Lol.
  • Aluminun light-weight trigger
Again, was the previous version lead and heavyweight?
  • Soft Sided Marker Case included
This is okay. Personally, I would rather a hard case, like the one Tiberius includes with their markers, but that's just me.
  • Adapter for Autococker Barrels
This confuses me. Why not just throw in a really nice barrel to begin with, instead of having to throw in a new two-piece kit, plus an adapter in case we decide to use something else?
  • Available in Titanium, Red, and Olive
In my opinion, for a marker designed for both speedball and woodsball, it took too long for something to come out in anything other than bright red.
  • New Optional Barrel Kit Available
And this one has Autococker threads, right? That's why you threw in the Autococker adapter, right? Either way, I feel like this shouldn't be considered an upgrade, since technically every barrel kit ever made is an optional upgrade.

Re: New Tippmann Crossover XVR

I am super stoked to see Tippmann making serious speedball style markers. This new Crossover may not be on the pro level yet but it is a step in the right direction. If Tippmann is able to produce a marker on the level of the Ego, Luxe, DM, etc and you combine that with their legendary customer service...PURE WIN! Keep it up Tippmann and I may have to ditch my PE markers.

IMO, if Tippmann wants to start making serious tourney markers, they're going to have to stop putting their woodsball valves in them, start using proper solenoids, and drastically improve their tolerancing, especially when it comes to trigger slop and runaway full auto.

The hybrid woodsball/speedball marker was a nice idea and it was great to see Tippmann trying something new, but the compromise didn't appeal to speedballers, or to many woodsballers, and they should really just move on to a new idea, not keep refining the Crossover.

Thats why I said it's "a step in the right direction." I didn't say they were there yet.
