I have had a Flurry for about 2 years or so now and nothing has really changed about it. No holes, rips.

lets go through the feature that Flurry wrot about the vest and I'll tell you about them.

Hydration Unit Sleeve -
This is a large pocket on your back that has a zipper. The location is right above your pods on your back. They have very handy rings located on your shoulders that you can run the water hose through.

Removable Contouring Foam -
Yes there is removable foam. it is farly easy to remove from the reenforced slits on the inside. Time to remove is about a minute, and to replace is about 2 minutes.

Flip Down ID & Card Holder -
This is awesome of big games and the like you just pull this tab and there you display on your chest your id card, player bio, ect. in a neat clear plastic slot.

Movable Radio Pouch -
There is a radio pouch located on your right shoulder and I guess it is removable. I my self Have never moved it because it is right at mouth level so I just trun my head and talk.

Redesigned Shoulder Straps -
Yes on their later models the straps were solid one pice of fabric. Now the straps are velcroed together. Thus making it easier to remove after a long game.

Longer Side Straps -
The side straps that connect the back to the front around your belly are farly long to fit all matter of creatures. and if they are too long for you there is a slot that the rest tucks into out of harms way.

Front Belt Keepers -
I have never used them Myself but there are two front loops on the bottom of the front that you could thred a belt through.

Tank Holder Attachment - There is a tank holder on your back that is very large holding a 20oz. tank with ease, and if you have a smaller tank there is a strap that you can tighten the holder down with so your tank doesn't come out.

Attachment Area -
There is a massive velcro area on your back that your pod holders, tank holder go. This is great in the fact that You can add, remove , and rearrange your set up any way you want.

--Clip to Carry Your Mask When Not Playing.
This may be the handyest feature of them all. I use this all the time. In the pre-game/ post-game do you find that you don't have enough hands to hold your mask, gun, and ect. well you can just clip your mask on you vest and have an easier time holding you maker and what ever else.

--Pockets and Pouches
These are awesome. You have two big pockets on tyour frount that are deep enought to hold a ten round tube (for all the stock players out there) and you have a few zip up pockets that are on your front are easy to access but are out of the way for play perfect for your car keys, money, tools, and ect.

--Padded Design Helps Eliminate the Sting of Getting Hit.
This helps a great deal I cannot remenber the last time I had a welt on my troso. Just several in the legs and arms.

*One Size Fits Most.
Due to the long side straps and the velcro upper straps. The vest fits almost all sizes in girth and higth.

The Cons

There are only 2 things negitive I can think of the vest.

1. Color fades over time due to washing machine. You can avoid this but washing by hand with a rag and water. really no need for soap.

2. Foam can get nasty if you arn't careful. You can avoid this by carefuly washing it, and don't play in extreme mud.

So over all score
10/10

well worth the money $89.95

the majority of players I know own a Flurry vest. and Give similar report.

Re: Flurry Ultraback Emissary Paintball Vest

The GenX Global vest doesn't have the Flurry customer service attached to it either. And the quality control is less.
I'd go with the Flurry, Chris has replaced these things for the smallest defects and he really stands behind his product.
GenX stole the design and last I asked he was doing something about that.

Re: Flurry Ultraback Emissary Paintball Vest

I've had a Flurry for 3 years and it has served me well. It wasn't until I recently acquired a Tac 8 and wanted to put it on my vest that I realized I needed a better vest.

So I got the SpecOps Broadsword vest. What a world of difference! The weight distribution, fit, front pouch options, way better. Now Flurry makes a great entry level vest, the back is fully customizable for a variety of pod and bottle setups. My only gripe is the front pockets were pretty useless for me, and I had no choice but to keep them. For the price, its a very good vest.

Re: Flurry Ultraback Emissary Paintball Vest

I've had my Flurry for about 2 years now and still love it. For my build it fits me perfect, although I have heard from short skinny guys that it's difficult to get tight around their torso. The back of the vest is nearly all velcro so it is completely customizable - you can put your pod holders and tank pouches ect... wherever you want. The water pouch is great and holds my camelback bladder perfectly. Another feature I like are the D rings on the shoulders. I use those to route my drinking tube from my water bladder on one side and my steel-braided remote on the other. Keeps the hoses in place where they won't hang on anything. The front of the vest has a variety of pockets/pouches as well as a built in map-flap that I have found very useful in scenario games. There is no place for a pistol but I don't carry one so that's no biggie for me. It has proven very durable with the only signs of wear on the front pouches from where I crawl on my stomach. I haven't noticed any remarkable fading (I have the woodland camo version) but I have always washed mine in cold water and air dried. For 2 years of hard use I would say it is in excellent condition. Vests are one of those items that are as much a matter of individual preference, playing style, and equipment carrying needs as anything else. When selecting one I would recommend you carefully think out what you need to carry and where you need to carry it and select accordingly. Even more important is comfort - if it's not comfortable, you won't want to wear it. In a long scenario game you may be wearing your vest for 8 hours at a time so try out friends vests if you can. Anyway, for me the Flurry has been both comfortable and functional. There may be better vests out there, but it has done everything I want and need.

Re: Flurry Ultraback Emissary Paintball Vest

I currently switch between 3 vests depending upon conditions a spec ops Dagger, Flurry woodland (2 yrs old) and Flurry Digi. The dagger is used mostly during the summer. The woodland is built like a tank with canvas material and strong stitching. The newer Flurry I purchased in Digi is not even close to the quality of the 2 year old woodland I own. I was really disappointed when I opened it up. They went with a vinyl material that is not even close to the canvas material they used on their older vests. The stiching does not hold up well with the material they used. The design is great and when the weather gets cold you can't beat them however they cut lot's of corners on the newer model. I am not sure if this is true with all of the new colors but the digi material is substandard when compared with their original offerings and Spec Ops vests.
