| Re: paddeling Do you go to school in the 1800s? Seriously though, you go to a private school, right? Just think, your parents paid for you to get paddled. They wouldn't do it if your parents stopped paying them.

| Re: paddeling Like zulu stated, when properly metered out, I believe that corporal punishment is OK. Do I agree that you should have gotten punished for having a rubberband? If the rule was not in place when the offence happened, I think maybe not. Did you disrupt the class? Did you shoot somebody with it? Then yes, the punishment was desereved. If not, then maybe a lesser punishment, make the rule, then hand out the punishment to the offender. Do not dwell on the punishment, my friend. Take it as a lesson learned and you will know for the next time. Look at it this way. If you were the head of the school or the teacher, how would you feel if a pupil had brought something like this to school and shot another student with a "hornet" and had an eye injury. Would you not feel bad if the student lost an eye or had diminished use of the eye because something like this happened? Usually rules are made for a reason or because of a situation that has happened or to keep a situation from happening. Chalk it up to a learning experience, move on, and don't let it happen again. Good day and God bless.

| Re: paddeling I go to a Catholic school and I'm not paddled. Strange, very strange. Boy, are those nuns tough, though. ![]()

| Re: paddeling After 12 years in a catholic/private school, I never got the paddle, or even seen anyone get one. I know my highschool didn't allow it and pretty sure my grade school didn't either. Punishment in the grade school involved standing on a parking line during recess and in some rare cases, detention. Demerits/detentions for highschool.

| Re: paddeling They've threatened. Jokingly, of course. My dad went to Catholic school, and the kids were rapped on the hands for various rule breakings. ![]()
