| Re: PIF Special 002 OK boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen,Now for the exciting news that we have hinted about. We are off to a great start for 002.I was generously given an almost complete working A5 from our great friends at Xtreme Action Paintball.I have gone through it and it is in good shape,I have already polished the internals. it dose need new orings and it has the older style valve and rear hammer.it also needs a barrel adapter and hopper,I have volunteered my services to do the assembly(since I already have the marker)So I think this one should go much faster. once again thank you to the guys at Xtreme Action Paintball for getting the ball rolling.

| Re: PIF Special 002 Wow, what a start! So I'm guessing that the few odds and ends I have left probably won't be needed for this one.

| Re: PIF Special 002 It does seem to take the fun out of it, don't get me wrong, i think its great for Xtreme to do what they did, but it just seems like it doesn't get much of the membership involved in the build. In the end the result is the same, and someone is given a great gift, but doing it this way seems like it's in the name of the A5OG. As opposed to by the A5OG if that makes sense. I'm not quibbling here, just like to see, and for others to have the opportunity to get in on it. But like i said, all's well that ends well, and there will be others ![]() |

| Re: PIF Special 002 It does seem kind of anticlimactic to have an almost complete marker so quickly, and as AirH0g says, this is different than the spirit of the PIF Special project, where everyone has an opportunity and is encouraged to contribute. At the same time we have to remember that 001 stalled out until Tippmann Sports offered up a set of receivers and a bunch of small parts. What about, instead of doing these one-at-a-time, we do more than one concurrently? This could allow us to hot-rod this marker, work toward another, and constantly include more people. If we always have more than one in the works, we always need stuff. For instance, what happens if two people speak up at the same time offering, say, trigger assemblies. If we're working on one at a time, one assembly is needed and the other person is left out. By having ongoing projects, more people can get involved. Also, there have been multiple suggestions to sell or raffle the next marker rather than gift it to a specific person, and donate the proceeds to a charity we agree on. We could think about using 002 to raise money with which to purchase receiver halves, that are then used with the pieces many people are williing to part with for future markers.
