It wasn't as much a race for time but a state of mind... I was more busy thinking about a witty reply and what I needed to do to get ready than thinking about the way people would perceive my post.

I could care less if people know it was me. I'll just let them use it as a "what not to do" type of thing.

Sure I use rep. I give it take it. Depends on what my mood is. JK about the mood thing. Sure I give neg rep out when I feel it deserves it. If someone is in a debate and takes it to a personal level I give em red. If someone is disrupting the forum I give em red. I give green to those who help me or have a nice gun or come up with something inventive. The rep system wouldn't work without neg so whenever I recieve it I take it as "the system is working"

Not to start a war or anything, but I don't think he was trying to be a jerk, this was a friendly poke in my opinion, from what i've seen your a little too touchy Spiritus, bad rep me all you want, but I think you should lighten up. I think it puts out a bad image, we're not at work, we're relaxing at home and chatting with comrades and pals. The only way to make a more hospitible enviorment for newcomers is to be hospitable and friendly, joke around, tease a bit. And please don't take this personally, I just want to better the forums.

well, I'm off of this thread as of now, I'll just leave saying that MillsLane is well respected, and he thought exactly as I did (if it's NSFW, it's not safe for here), and it can definitely be taken as rude, so take the issue up with him. I'm not going to neg rep you, because you're not being degrading, or rude, you're just stating an opinion, which I have absolutely no problem with. Trust me, I've been in this sport avidly for 10 years now, I've seen hundreds come and go from the sport, I've known the good and bad, and I'm all about bettering the sport (including the forum), being hospitable, offering advice, and getting others to always feel safe to post without "stupid this, or stupid that" responses. Think of it this way, if he made that post to someone who was, lets say, anyone else who took the time to write a well put together post, do you think they'd take it as funny, or rude? 9/10 would probably take it as rude. That's what I made my decision off of, and I'm here to protect the new players/members as a big brother ambassador to the game/forum (which includes letting people know when they cross a line). I would neg him and say the exact same thing if he posted that in response to ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE else who would have made a post like I did, so please don't think I'm too touchy, or sensitive about it being in response specifically to my post. Actually, I've got a pretty dang sarcastic/open sense of humor, but that to me wasn't humorous at all.

As a new member this site has been nothing but helpful and encouraging, have always loved the sport and the life. This site has become like a new home for me(to the desperation of my girlfriend lol). I have used Rep since i knew it existed but cautiously as i'm still learning the system. I have not given any neg rep as no one has ever been rude or unkind to me or my few posts. I have given pos Rep where i thought it unquestioningly deserved. Zamurai21c's jules verne A-5 is as good a one as i can name, Wonder of wonders link(not sure how link attachments work yet srry). And sooo many mod, upgrade and custom setup info links that its a little mind boggling. Thank all of U for your hard work in making this site what it is.

And to all those who have managed to read this entire thread, note that it is still open. The mods have decided (for now) that the conversation may have gotten a little excited, but maturity remained. That is one of the pillars of this forum. It shows how those that have achieved the exalted station of "moderator" can discuss things calmly and cooly, when they really want to yell, all without ever letting that on! We would be PBN without the mods and those that think, and act, like them.

is one way to show approval or disapproval of a persons post. Just like it says on the Rep page. So, yea, I look at it and it is a great way to help keep our fourm "clean".

I mostly dont bother with it. I come here to give or ask for advice from those who have done it, or want to. there have been a few times that I've been snubbed when I asked a question but maybe that person is too busy to jump to answer someone they don't really know. point is, this forum is way too cool to waste time causing trouble, enjoy it.

I actually just found that I have posting rights in the B/S/T section...last time I checked I didn't, which was pretty lame given that I've been here for a good amount of time, login nearly every day and never pissed anyone off.

Ah well... life is tough for us lurkers I guess.

Now that I have full access to B/S/T I really couldn't care less about rep points...not that I ever tried anyway.
