So this is my thousandth post here on the A5OG. I thought I’d make it something special.

To be perfectly honest I’m not one to monitor my own post count much. I don’t really even remember all the posts that got me here. I just remember glancing at the counter one day and seeing “748” and wondering “Already? Have I been here that long?”

After that time I never checked…until another passing glance which revealed it to be in the 900s. And now, here I am. One thousand posts. Surely we should make a group for that? “A5OG Millenials” sounds catchy, but I digress.

I’ve been active on a lot of forums in my time. Usually I’ll have one which I frequent (homepage of the period) and a few other, lesser ones – currently, the home page is A5OG .

Something’s different here though. Something which has held my attention for nearly a year. It’s the people. None of the other communities I’ve been part of (though for the most part quite respectable) have a membership base quite as mature, helpful, and honourable as A5OG. I’ve seen threads degrade into mindless flame warring and spam fests, but not here. Anywhere else I’ve been, moderators in particular don’t seem to participate much except for rule enforcement, but here it’s different. The mods are just as active, if not more so, than the regular membership base. I suppose it’s a way of leading through example – and it certainly has worked.

I don’t know if there’s a point to this other than my musings of why I like this forum so much. I suppose the only thing left to say is…thank you. All of you. Every one of you who’s contributed to making this forum what it is. I thank you deeply for accepting me, even as a complete newcomer, as an equal, when there are so many other places which might not have shown me that courtesy.

I don’t drink, but just pretend that he’s drinking ginger ale or something…and here’s to the finest company I have ever had on the internet.

I'm in the same boat here. I didn't even realize that I passed 1000 and I've only been here 6 months. Yikes!

I agree about this forum being one of the best. Only one other forum have I ever been part of compare in quality to this and that was the CorvetteForum. Since I sold the vette, I had no reason to belong there anymore. I'm so glad that a place like this exists.

Yes this is an awesome forum...
I must admit that my A5 is now my back-up marker and I still come here. People are nice and very helpfull.
But I am one of the new guys and I am far from 1000 posts.. haha

I'm trying to get rid of my A5 and I still post here!!!!!!

I Don't use my A-5 at all its in the process of becoming my brothers but im on here still for the same reason as everyone else. I have less then half the posts but all in all its an awesome forum.And by the way i prefer apple juice in this case bubbly apple juice but ginger ale works just as good.

i recently joined this forum with little paintball knowledge. but through reading through all the threads and learning of others' mistakes/triumphs i have built my perfect marker and know now how to go through the processes of modding/upgrading. thanks for everything guys! awesome helpful group and i plan to be part of this for a long time

haha, SAME! This is a good site for just general paintball discussion. You don't need to have an A5 to enjoy this site.

Yes. This is a great, educational atmosphere where people discuss issues and don't flame all of the time. If they do, the moderators take care of them quickly. Ginger Ale FTW!
