Hooray! well, i just got back from a long day spent with a good friend, We stopped at bell for a bit, and i picked up a Blackberry Pearl

Its pretty cool, but itll take some getting use to....Anyone else have one? I went blackberry because of the amount of texts i do (like 350 a day?) usually on my old Razr.... (haha still in the 15 year old text phase i guess....)

I mean no offense James, but I personally do not see the purpose of a 15 y/o having a Blackberry. I am old enough to be your father and I abhor the things. I steadfastly refuse to get one even with the amount of stuff that I have to get on my phone. I do not need the email capability, so my RAZR can handle it for now.

And 350 texts a day? Dang! Whatever happened to picking up the phone and talking to someone..or better yet, talking to them FACE TO FACE! I get Amber Alerts from PA/DE/MD/VA, FEMA and DHS alerts, and notes from my fiancee and I still don't go over 500 messages a month!

LOL, sorry about the rant. I am and have always been a "gadget guy", but the need for texting in general (and Crackberries in particular) escapes me. If that is your thing, it's fine [insert old guy grumble here], but I dread the day my kids are old enough to want their own. LOL

Lol well its hooked up on pay as you go.....And i got it for free! it cost less to get a crackberry than to get the cheapest bottom grade phone they had (by about 40 bucks)

It cost me 50 for connection/startup/15 bucks in minutes

Its 20 per month for unlimited texts, picture and video messaging/web browsing and 5 bucks for msn

The cheapest phone they had was 85+tax, and it sure wasnt purty or cool.....So, i hope that answers your rant

And because being a construction worker (seriously, not one of the do it yourselfers) doing electrical, hardwood floor installation, insulation aswell as masonry....i dont get much phone time, plus it costs more. And i cant see everybody at once? lol its not one person...its more like 6 or 7.....

I was going to get one of the motorola rugged phones because i wreck phones, my RAZR has fallen 4 sets of scaffolding high into a pile of scrap wood and nails (it has dents from nails), but like i said...its 300 bucks, instead of FREE crackberry.....( 449 value)

I know three people with those phones and all three hate them. They said at first they are hard to use but you get use to the software. But the main complaint was that the phone shuts itself off and sometimes during calls you cannot hear the person on the other line and you must shut it off and take out the battery to reset it. I hope you have insurance on it, my buddy has went through 3 in about 6 months.

I just picked up an AT&T Tilt and love this phone. I know you got a great deal on the crackberry but if it does crap out on you, take a look at the tilt.

yeah, it was one of my friends crackberry, She got a new phone and gave this one to me...its just missing the battery door Its Amethyst kinda cool i think........

So, if it craps out, i have exactly 56.83 put into it, im hoping it doesnt, but you never know......

I dont know about the calls thing? ive only talked like 8 minutes since i got it yesterday at 430, and sent 1 text! (yes only 1!) because i dont have my unlimited hooked up yet, so i pay for outgoing and incoming 15 cents (stupid cash grab...)

I have the new Nokia ExpressMusic phone. I don't use it for music, but it's tiny and sexy.

I recently realized I went over my plan's 150 text messages per month so I went into Wireless Wave and got them to upgrade me so I pay an extra $10/month for 2500 text and 1000 picture messages but I can't use that much, so I am going back in to be downgraded again tomorrow

Never liked the blackberries myself.

My brother has the T-Mobile Pearl and likes it just fine. He uses the email function for his work(forum tech support), but doesn't use the text messaging at all.

I have the Nokia ExpressMusic also(red one because they were out of orange). I use the music player to listen to recorded seminars and talks.

That's probably a good idea since I do record my lectures sometimes. Mine's blue since that's the only color they had when I went in. They had just got it in that day. I washed my old phone, which was the reason I had to get the new one

Lesson (esp. for the expensive phone owners): Always check where your phone is before starting the laundry. I have a note above the washing machine to remind me.

The old Razor was partially resurrected after the first washing(I had to use the ear piece because the mic was ruined), but my brother left it in his pocket and it died the second time through the washer...
