Re: Your callsign, and how did you get it?

"It was in my sights" became a common excuse when I was shooting trap as a kid and I missed (AKA I was not leading my shot correctly). So now, everytime I shoot and miss a target my family taunts me with "it was in my sights". And it has just stuck with me.

Re: Your callsign, and how did you get it?

Opie is my nickname, it's been around since I was 12 years old! I have friends who've known me for years that don't know that my name is actually Peter, lol! The only people who call me by my real name are my parents, my niece and nephew call me uncle Opie, lol!

I like working with metal, particularly aluminum.

Tin Man or preferred TinMan

I just finished an Apex adapter for a SP8 barrel for a friend,
for a day it was PainMan.

Re: Your callsign, and how did you get it?

I don't really have a callsign or nickname anymore since high school. Some of my friends call me Inspector Gadget due to all the tech stuff I have. Others call me Master Chief due to my camo and paintball equipment. But nope, I don't really have one. I probably need one . . .

As for "Jaron" that's just something I started to use as an online pseudonym years ago.

Ahh, good ol' Heat. That was just great. 10Six beta was cool. And I was one of the best at NetFighter.

Wow, I'm starting to feel right at home, good ol' days . . .

Re: Your callsign, and how did you get it?

I work in a toxicology lab and was discussing aflatoxin with a coworker. Aflatoxin comes from the fungus Aspergillus flavus and there are FDA limits on how much ends up in peanut butter. Anyway, if you get an aspergillus infection in your lungs it looks nasty - but the word lungfungus has a nice ring to it...

Re: Your callsign, and how did you get it?

I named myself after Jin Saotome from a relatively unknown Capcom fighting game called Cyberbots.

I actually found out about him from playing Marvel vs Capcom and I liked the character a lot cause he was wild and scremed bloody murder every time you pressed an attack button.

Re: Your callsign, and how did you get it?

hmmmmm, zulu. i was named after the most powerful african zulu king, Tshaka aka Shaka Zulu. so, zulu was it. and people would always call me shaka zulu. it was better than going with the wonderful human beings who used to ridicule my name by calling me chaka bakuni from land of the lost, or even worse still, chaka khan! i caught H-E double hockey sticks for that last one in the 80's!!

Re: Your callsign, and how did you get it?

When I first started playing paintball in the sixth grade I wore this shirt that said Got Paint? on the front with a bunch of paintball splats, The 92 comes from 1992.

Re: Your callsign, and how did you get it?

I am a US Army Psychological Operations Team Chief (actually, I'm currently a PsyOp instructor). In the community we refer to ourselves as "Psyoppers" much like (and probably derived from jealousy of...) the 9th Ranger Battallion referring to themselves as "Rangers"

I use Psyopper as my handle in a large number of forums as well as a host of web based email addresses.

By the way, there's no better job in the Army than being a Psyopper, and especially being a Psyop Team Chief.
