Re: Military Service

5th, then 3rd Army Special Forces at fort Bragg NC for 20 years. Retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. Ran with A-Teams for 17 of those years.

Read the contract and don't let them rush you. Once you sign it, you be long to them. If you fail to live up to the contract, they can do anything they want with you. Due to Iraq and Afganistan, the military has most of what it wants, except grunts. If you fail to pass your school with flying colors, they will welcome you to the Infantry and the front line of battle.

Give'm hell and do what your told, you'll be a veteran in no time.

I've served in two campaigns in Iraq so far, and it was the best time of my life... not sure what your friend's MOS is, but I'm sure he deserved his punishment and I can't tell you anything bad about Iraq unless he didn't want to be there in the first place, and if that's the case, why did he join up?

And what Chief said above is probably the best advice in this thread, short and the right answer .

I believe that my edit of the problem post should clue people in and stop the thread-jacking nonsense from continuing.

I personally plan on serving in the United States Marine Corps. I am in the process of preparing for the ASVAB and MEPS this month, and will be signing my papers in July when I get back from vacation. I have been looking into Marine Corps Security Forces for my MOS.

Signing my papers and I believe going to MEPS in May of '10 for the United States Marine Corps.
The few and the proud.

95% sure im doing my time as an 2111 Small Arms Technician. 5% to 0864 Forward/Scout Observer.
I was 100% Infantry untill I planned on getting married. Dont want to risk my chances with that. But hey? Could change my mind any time for infantry
