Re: Sr 25 sniper or another m4 carbine

Wow. That may be the first RAP4 hard good I've been impressed by. I like their soft goods, but haven't been overwhelmed by any marker kit until this.

Thanks for the info!

I'm pretty sure that the size of the real M-4/AR-15 buttstock is the same as that on the A-5 except for the fact that it needed to be attached to the buttplate of the a-5 to be compatable.

Re: Sr 25 sniper or another m4 carbine

im a sniper fan, and to me, that looks more already as a sniper than as a m4, im not a fan of making the marker resemble a real life gun, moding it to look like a a5 sniper would look cooler by me, but thats just my opinion so to stick to the poll, id say SR 25

Re: Sr 25 sniper or another m4 carbine

both of those guns are based on the m16. so either 1 would be cool.

That stock is pretty good. I have that tube with my stock and the only problem is that it has very bad wobble. I used the rubber bottoms of a metal screw washer to tighten it. Its much better now. Just some advice for anyone who picks up the metal tube.

Re: Sr 25 sniper or another m4 carbine

Nice job on that A5 as it stands btw.

I must admit, I'm more of an M4 fan than a SR25, so even though there may be a few more M4 versions out there, only you can make it look better than the rest

So... I say go with what you want to play with on the field.

Well.... the easy way is to get a standard A5 6 position stock (metal or not)

and buy a CTR Carbine Stock Commercial Version.

and you end up with something like this....

I've seen this done on a couple of A5's including one here on A5OG (but I can't remember who it was)

Now that's only one type of stock you can combine with an A5 stock, so now you know you can fit a commercial version to an A5 you're half way there

btw you can't use a MilSpec version as its a different size.

You could also get a stock A5 tube (not a position stock tube)
and add a commercial version of this over the tubing:
(This was what I originally wanted on my M4 project)

Now this was the only way I could find of getting a M93 stock on an A5, but it also worked out the most expensive way of making a newer custom stock.

So I just went with this as my second option:

Hope that helps

Re: Sr 25 sniper or another m4 carbine

That is great advice. I was really interested in the same stock that you went with on yours as your backup choice. I do like that the other stock though and was wondering where you found it. or if anyone has seen it some where I would like to know.
