Sr 25 sniper or another m4 carbine

Please be sure to click on the link below before answering the poll question.

Well Here it is. I know you guys have seen a lot of these parts on other A5s. I have a question that needs adressing. This is a picture of my A5 below. It has some work and upgrades done but I do not want to continue down the same path as everyone else. I would like something a little different. I can do one of two things. Make my A5 look like another M4 or make it look like a SR 25 sniper rifle.

M4:
Metadyne M4 magizine
UMS 3 prong flash hider
6 position stock with telescoping check pad and battery storage AR-15 Stocks
Laser sight
Tac light

SR 25 sniper rifle:
metadyne M4 mag or opsgear M82A1 mag kit
fake silencer
Bipod
6 pos stock with telescoping check rest AR-15 Stocks

Re: Sr 25 sniper or another m4 carbine

I'm personally not a milsim-er, but I can appreciate it. My $.02 is that were I to milsim out a marker, I'd rather go with a form that in some way resembled the function of the A-5. You're not getting much "penetration" with a paintball gun, nor are ya gonna have the range of a designated marksman weapon. You do, however, have a nice, tight, rapid-fire marker. Much more like the M4.

Like I mentioned on a similar thread asking about opinions on SAW v. Barrett looks, my impulse would be to model form on a function the A-5 can perform well

Semi-related question: How do you get a real-steel AR stock onto an A-5?

(edit for typos)

Personally i would go for the sr 25 bc how many of them do you see? everyone has had a variant of the m-4/m-16 at some point and not many people venture out and see what else is out there. be different, go for the sr

Re: Sr 25 sniper or another m4 carbine

Never found much use for sniper set ups. I do like seeing people going for different "looks" tho. I never want to play with someone's sniper rig, but i love looking at them. I cant tell you which way to go cause i run a plain jane A5. Nothing special.. no bells or whistles.. just function.

Re: Sr 25 sniper or another m4 carbine

M4

Functions as a primary close qaurters combat weapon. A great weapon for shooting fast and my A5 is preety quick with Super RT and vented Cyclone tube for the X7 with Vortex Mod and Lightening rod. The upgrades are easy to aquire to go the rest of the distance.

SR 25

Upgrades are a little more pricey considering the sources I would have to go to and get them. One sweet looking mod but does not function. Paintballs not very accurate after 150 feet. not good at CQB and Not really good at Sniping since no real range. I have moded a 98 C FL to fit the A5 and it does a great job of getting the range ( ball on ball at 200 feet but not consistent past 250 feet) the accuracy is not what I wanted.

Still not convinced I would like to see an A5 done up real nice as an Sr 25. But I like the ability to use my A5 as an M4.

I am going to give it a few more days to see what the poll kicks out before I decide.

Thanks for everyone's input so far.

First that is a very good question.

I do not think it would be very dificult to mod the real steel stock to fit the 6 position simulated tube of the tapco stock for the A5. But if I were to find it dificult there is a website that sells a six pos. tube for the A5 that is made of metal and will support that mod.

Tippmann A5 Metal Butt Stock Adaptor

I do have options but I want to use the plastic to first and foremost to cut back on dead weight. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I plan on using the stock no matter what mode I try to take up so any help will go a long way.
