| Re: Agent 47 - Hitman Special ahh yes the faceplate. I have been waiting for that. Very simple here we go ; Some scrap metal sheet. The kind used for heating ducts is what I used and real cheap at Home depot. $ 5-6 dollars for a large 3 x 2 piece for patch work. You take the stock plate off the marker and very carefully AND TIGHTLY trace its outline onto the sheet metal. I say tightly because the tighter you trace the original the more exact your cut plate will be in comparison to the old one. The more exact it is , the less filing you will need to do get it to fit right. Use metal snips to cut it out. Aviation tin snips are great. After you cut it out, check all the edges and sand/file it till it is an exact copy of the original. Make sure all the edges are smooth NOT knife sharp. Paint holds better and chips less on rounded corners. Make sure the metal strip/plate is nice and flat. Use a rubber mallet or roll it under a metal pipe to make it so. Now we are going to sand both sides of the plate BUT each differently. One side sand under water with a fine grade sand paper. Nice and smooth here. This is the side the adhesive will be going on. The other side sand with a slightly rougher grade, this provides better grip for the paint. WASH THOROUGHLY AND LET IT DRY. Now, you can avoid this step if you dont have it. It wont hurt. I sprayed the metal with self etching primer. This stuff actually etches the metal a little and provides a great primed surface to paint on. Let it dry. Now spray with satin black. Glossy paint work here best. You can hit it with a clear flat later. Do the usual build up in layers. Letting each layer dry a bit. Sand between layers. Do the final layer as a nice wet spray. This will give it a smooth coat. NOW LET THIS ALL DRY FOR A DAY OR TWO. Bake a little in an oven to expedite; 150 degrees for 15 minutes. Or put it in front of a heater. Once its dry the paint should be hard and glossy. Now here is the artsy part. Print onto a piece of paper whatever art work you want on there. Make sure its the same dimentions as face plate. A little trial and errror is involved here. Or you can free hand it on the paper. Cut out the art work to the same shape as the face plate and USE ELEMERS WHITE GLUE to glue it onto the plate. Press down and wipe of the excess glue that squirts out the side. Let it dry COMPLETLEY. Now using a fine dremel carving bit dremel you design on the paper that is on the face plate. Make sure you cut throught the paper AND paint till the silver metal underneath is exposed. Do half an inch at a time. Constantly blow on it to remove the debris. When you are all done you should see your whole design exposed throught the paint in shiny metal. NOW take the plate and put it a glass of warm NOT HOT water. This will loosen the glue and paper off the plate and you can using your fingers to gently rub it off. Wash throughly after this step. Now you can leave it this way or take it a step further. Using a fine brush I used TAMIYA clear acrylic red to paint inside the dremelled groves. CAREFULLY. When it dries it has this fantastic anodized look to it. To preserve it I painted over it with a clear acryllic floor polish like Johnsons. When its dry uses doubled sided tape or rubber cement on the NON painted side to attach it to the marker. WHEW! thats it. Last edited by SkinWalk3r : 04-15-2008 at 02:47 PM. |

| Re: Agent 47 - Hitman Special pretty sweet. I like the custom work on the nameplate and front of the foregrip. The pad on the stock looks great too..
