Re: A-5 PSG-1 Sniper

I am a welder/fabricator by trade and just used left over sheet metal. The mag doesn't remove like a real one, but instead screws into the forward handle thread from underneath.

Re: A-5 PSG-1 Sniper

Sad to say the foregrip is no longer in production. I bought it from OPS Gear a few years back. They used to make a huge selection of plastic foregrips and now they make them all out of alum.

Re: A-5 PSG-1 Sniper

Nice job on your mag! I had bought some parts and then looked closer at them. I laughed because it is so simple to make them, it just takes time and the right equipment (in my case: mig welder, vise, hammers, blending pliers and supplies). Even if you don't have a welder, you can rivet the steel together. All you need is a plan and imagination.

I agree, a lot of people on here like to make homemade mods. And why not! Although I'm no steel expert, I can work with wood. And like I stated in that thread, the AK mags go for well over $40. Mine was used with extra wood, a $3 can of spray paint, and a $2 hand carving tool. Most people have dremels and if you do have one you might as well use it, I don't have one but even without one you can still do nice work!

Re: A-5 PSG-1 Sniper

VERY nice. my only advice is to shave off the front lip on the a5. I believe it would add to the "sniper" look, making the marker seem longer

my.02 cents
