Re: Wich barrel for speedball playing?

I had a Dye Ultralite on my A5 it was great, the only downside is that it is more expensive than some barrels but I thought well worth it.

It was super accurate, made the A5 quieter, very nice looks, and was pretty light.

I made a review on it you can read here:

Re: Wich barrel for speedball playing?

One of the best barrel IMO for the A5 is the J&J ceramic. It does everything the above mentioned Ultrlite does but for around $40. It is coated with ceramic so with any breaks it'll shoot itself clean after 2 shots, is just as quiet as a Stiffi barrel and very accurate. I have a 12" J&J now as my main barrel, I made the switch from a 12" Stiffi carbon fiber barrel that had practically the exact same performance but cost me $109. All that being said the best thing you can do for accuracy is a barrel kit followed by air consistancy. J&J also make the Edge barrel kit ranging from $95 to $150 for the three kits. Here's the link to their site.

Re: Which barrel for speedball playing?

yes..i'm glad to hear.,coz i liked the look..:P , but i have a question,, self-cleaning?,,,does that mean that if i break a ball in a barrel (wich might happen, even though i have the cyclone feed system) i can just shoot some more bullets and it will be okay?..it sounds to good,, but i can't find another explanation on the title self cleaning,,

my plans right now are the a-5 and a J&J ceramic barrel the #1 of theese i listed above on my other post..

Not to be picky, but you don’t shoot bullets. You refer to them as balls, paint, or rounds. Anyway... no.

You don’t just blow rounds though your barrel if you have a broken ball in there. That is a good way to FUBAR the rest of the paint in your hopper. You should stop shooting as soon as you notice you broke a ball, turn the gun upside down (to keep the balls from feeding into the marker) then shoot 4-5 times to clear the gun/barrel of paint and debris. At no time should you throw more paint through the barrel after you broke a ball in it unless you already cleared it in this fashion (or squeegee it). The J&J just makes it easier to clear the broken bits of shell and paint out using this method IMO.

Anyway, from what I have read and researched, the Palmer brass barrel is hands down the best for almost every type/size of paint and every playing scenario. It’s a bit expensive though, so if you can’t afford the palmer Id go with the J&J 2 piece.
