The guy definitely bragged when he did it at the local field :P He actually had dropped some balls when filling his hopper and since the terrain is sand, you're not going to put those back in, so he picked up a handful and threw them and one happened to break on the side of the guy's mask lol

Re: Is it a legal kill? It dose pose an interesting dilemma of a kill or not,I guess it would come down to the refs. I would give him the kill just on the fact that it was a good throw and he was close enough to make the throw.I play with a guy that has done that on several occasions(he never actually hit anyone) and it is one of the funniest things I have ever see.

Re: Is it a legal kill? This situation hasn't happened to me (yet) but I could definitely see it happening. I thought I would ask about it because some people might think that it's not a kill because it doesn't come from a paintball gun. Others might think that it's the explosion of the paintball on the other person that really matters. If I ever did get in this situation, I would say it was a kill but was curious what everyone else thought.

Re: Is it a legal kill? It will always come down to that the rules day. Most rules will say something to the effect of "a player who is marked with a paintball fired from paintball marker is out." Other rules will say "if a player is hit with a paintball, they are out" There can be all kinds of possibilities as to whether this is a elimination or not. It will always depend on the rules. Always know what the rules are where you are playing.

Re: Is it a legal kill? yea just looked at the psp rules. A valid hit is only counted when a paintball is shot. A shot is defined as using a marker with attached air source and barrel. It evens states thrown paintballs do not count (though it not illegal to throw one) and if the opponet is touched though while throwing the paint the thrower will be penalized accordingly (no physical contact penalty). *edit in a friendly game though I would walk and laugh at myself for getting out by a thrown paintabll.
