| Re: Are sights useful? I use a Red Dot sight. It always is on top of my A5. I've got it sighted in for about 35 feet. I feel the reason many people have problems with the sight is getting it sighted in. With a red dot sight, you can sight it in without a mask on. When your mask is on, all you need to see is that dot, as long as you can see that dot and put it on target, it will go where the dot is. My sight is used mainly for my first shot engagements, for finding that small opening in that bunker, or where the noob is repeatdley poking his head out from. At this point, i fire a three to burst to be sure i'll get a break. during a sustained firefight, I try to drop back or get cover fire so i can change my position and get the time i need to make the sight work for me. |

| Re: Are sights useful? Scopes, I have three an acog, replica, its very cool looking and has a cool red cross, the other is I dont know wat its called but its cool has green or red dot, and the third I put on my girls custom 98, its from trinity paintball, its on a riser, and it has a big opening to look through, and a red dot, I like the look of scopes and, lazers and stuff on my guns it adds to the mil sim thing, but hing is, with a mask on I never can seem to get a good sight down them. also to sight them in, well its paint we are shooting and the balls never really hit the red dot too often, so for cool factor, ya, for preacticle use, I say not so much. plus its easy to get shot in the side of the head while you are looking down the sscope. and then their is the weight thing, I had my guns tricked and man they were heavy, bulky and a hand full, then I slimmed them down and they are much better for running around in the woods with. |

| Re: Are sights useful? My red dot sight has helped a lot!! i think it has been said a couple of times in this thread already, but if yyou just take the time to dial in your sight just right and you mount and use it the correct way you will def see an improvement in your game, especially in your first shot targeting!

Exactly I shoot my marker like a recurve bow and I'm generally on target. As much as I want to use a sight when the fights over I realize I never do.

| Re: Are sights useful? In my opinion they all have their benefits in CERTAIN situations. However in alot of others they do become quite useless. Not many people have the time to look down a scope or other and make sure their shot is on during a regular fire fight. However I got a red dot last week and put it on my gun. I really like it when I'm far away it helps with aiming alot. Plus besides it looking cool. It scares alot of people haha.

This isn't the question at hand though. There is no arguing that one can be accurate without an optic, and there is no arguing that one can shoot the marker without using one. But, with that being said, it seems to me that people dismiss the potential of having one in place. It's as if people are closed minded on the topic at hand, with the idea that if you have one on the marker then you must always use it. I have optics on ever paintball marker I use besides my T8. I don't always use them either. Depends on the circumstance. However, there is no arguing that you can make a first shot count at distances that would be harder to accomplish without one much quicker. I have made some pretty astounding kills with mine, that would have other wise been much harder to pull off without one. For instance, there was a guy setting behind a wood barrier looking through a peep hole about the size of a base ball. I took aim at roughly 75 feet and pinged his nugget first shot. If I wouldn't have had that sight, I doubt I could have pulled that shot as quick, or with the first shot. He would have ducked back if the first shot would have just hit close and alerted him. He never seen it coming till it was egg splatter on his lens. |
