I always go head first because I know my terrain for one, and secondly just before impacting the ground, my shoulders would take the impact instead of my head. However, in doing so, my head would snap if my neck was much smaller than it is so it's rock solid as soon as I hit my shoulders. My vest, being from RAP4, took a lot of the beating and is still in extremely good shape. In fact, since I decided to upgrade, my team mate, who saw me doing all this to the vest, decided to buy it off me.

It's especially helpful diving into trenches knowing where to land and how. Those freakin' flatline A5 users bug the crap out of me.

Ive done it once or twice but never after thinking about. I been playing speedball the past few years and maybe "supermanned" twice. I have a 07 Ego and just dont wanna take the chance of digging my gun into the ground. Dont think Ive ever bumped to the next bunker knowing I was gonna Superman??????

I almost never slide head first. I do this slide-on-my-knees-while-leaning-back thing. It lets me shoot while sliding into cover, but I have to really book it to get some distance into the cover...or else there I am on my knees, leaning back, right in the middle of an open area!

I can't say that I do much diving every. It's just one of those things that I try not to do what with all the gear that I wear when I play. The closest that I get is if I'm on some sort of grass covered field and I'll do a speedball slide into a bunker, but never a face first dive. When I'm in the woods I just don't do it because as much as I love paintball, I'm not really to willing to hurt myself when I play, and on some fields you just don't know what all is behind that bunker. As for low crawling, I'll do that all day long, and I have before. I'm usually at a pace that's fast enough that I don't really have to worry too much about speed and getting behind a bunker fast enough. But I guess it's to each his own on this one.

And both times I dove headfirst something went wrong. The first time, I dove straight into a gopher hole/bump. I kind of flipped when I hit my shoulder, I dont know what happened to my gun and I was laying in the middle of the open.

The second time, I almost hurt my knee pretty bad. Started going downhill when someone opened up on me and I turned back up and dove face first, when my leg was caught on a root sticking out of the ground. I was almost certain I pulled a ligament on that one.

I'll superman dive if it's required to get to my bunker. Generally only do it going into the snake or an upfield bunker like a tape dorrito. If I'm playing as an anchor I'm generally delay-breaking and shooting my way in so I just slide in gunning and stand up gun still blazing to keep my tape alive.

Playing on turf makes it a lot easier to superman dive though.
