How often, in a match, or a day, do you just run and superman into cover? On dirt, snow, anything?

Personally, I have mastered the art of not hitting my gun on the ground when I land, and I'm pretty damn good at crawling on my belly, really, REALLY fast. (The motivation comes from a welt left on my ass cheek from 1 year ago! )

I did a crazy superman behind a box last week. There was a soild 2ft of snow on the ground and I was running down a slight hill to get behind this box, and when I went to dive behind it I guess my shoulder dug into the snow/ground and I did a nasty front flip and ended up filling my mask,pants, and shirt with snow. Amazingly no snow in my gun. The ref said it was the funniest thing he has ever seen.

Rare, Altho i have done it. the reason i dont do it, is its much harder to shoot while flying, granted you shouldnt be running and shooting anyway. it should be Shoot, Look (find your path and next cover) Shoot, RUN! dive/slide, shoot somemore. The only reason i say dont shoot and run is because ive seen people run full tilt into trees. but anyway when i finaly get to where im running, i slide in like into 2nd base, coming in sitting allows me to pop up or snap out really fast right off the bat. i dont have to scramble off my stomach.

Last time I dove head first into the snake, the ground was wet with dew. I kept sliding, and sliding, out into the open with three barrels pointing at me...

One time on a full run down the right side of the field, I tried to stop behind a tree, but could not stop because I was going too fast, and instead decided to slide. I slid all the way past the tree and into the open! I left my A5 to get back behind cover, and reached out to grab my A5. LOL everyone was shooting at my marker because they knew I would want it.

I slide about 2 times per round. It gets my head down fast.

EDIT: Just realized the poll said "head first". Though I slide a few times a game, its not always head first, most commonly I slide on my side feet first.

I slide and dive belly first because I'm afraid of busting a pod. That's the last thing I need is a green butt.

I'll only slide butt-first on dry dirt or ice. The problem with dirt is that is kicks up dust clouds which could give away your position if you are trying to be sneaky. The problem with ice is that it's difficult to navigate once you get some momentum. Often, slamming into the bunker wall is the only way to stop Like Prophet said, if you overshoot the target, prepare to get hosed down by the competition. If you slide in mud: 1) It makes a mess, and 2) you risk losing a shoe if it gets stuck while your body continues.

Funny story...
My cousin and I were playing a one-on-one pistol game on a field with lots of huts and bunkers. At one point, he ran out of paint in his clip and started running away while loading. I chased him with the two-three rounds I had left and as I turned the corner, I found him sprawled out on the floor. As it turns out, he tried to dive into a hut but tripped before he jumped and ended up plowing his head into the low door frame. His Delta .68 was here, his 10-round tubes were there, his mask was twisted to the side, and one of his legs was up in the air resting on the hut wall. It was hilarious. He managed to get up (stunned as he was), grabbed his pistol, and barrel tagged me while I was laughing at him so he won match, but I didn't care. I thought it was the funniest site in the world.

I prefer to do a baseball slide on my butt. I've done that alot, and that way I'm ready to get up and shoot because I can stick my foot out and just pop right up to shoot someone. And its pretty fun just gliding on the ground really. I also have the vest problem as well.
