| Re: Does anybody have bad tunnel vision while playing? Every time you stop for cover, do a 360 degree scan, noting every other possible piece of cover around you. Exception would be if you are advancing with other people on your sides, then you can focus forward while the people on the flanks can watch their respective sides. I look around even more after I find a target, because I know that is when I am most vulnerable.

| Re: Does anybody have bad tunnel vision while playing? You know what helped me? Learning to ride a motorcycle. No, really. You gotta keep your eyes up, and constantly use your peripheral vision. You have to create a boundery of space between you and other drivers. So, when you play paintball, keep your eyes on the target but be aware of everything that pops up in the corner of your eye. Also be aware of where all your opponants are in your mind, even if you're not looking at them. Try to imagine a top view of yourself and your enemies, like the "radar" in a video game. It won't be a perfect view, of course, but if you keep it in the back of your mind, you may find it will help alot.

| Re: Does anybody have bad tunnel vision while playing? I just don't get tunnel vision. Never been a problem for me. What I suggest though is to, like others have stated, keep your head on a swivel, but also keep your eyes checking around. Also, when you seen an enemy, don't just open up with out taking a quick glance around to check the area. Especially if you're moving up and not staying behind a fixed position. The Joker

| Re: Does anybody have bad tunnel vision while playing? I personally don't suffer from it because IDPA and SRT training takes hold as soon as I'm in the field. However, I know what you mean and I see a lot of players eliminated because of it. I get eliminated because I'm twice as wide (and slow) as the younger guys...lol.

| Re: Does anybody have bad tunnel vision while playing? While attending my law enforcement training, you can very quickly fall into tunnel vision. It happens to rookie, and veteran officers alike. You have to keep your mind focused on what you are doing, and always keep looking around, otherwise you can find your self in the "tunnel" It's something you'll always have to keep on your mind, your can't just get used to it, if you do, that's not good. That's just what I have been shown, I hope it helps out. Happy playing. |
