Well, I don't know about disbanding the forum. However I am working on a project.

Re: How close do you let your target get before you fire?

lol

I am just an opportunity taker. It's not so much a set distance with me. I like to let the person get as close as he can before he engages me. Yes, I let him take the first shot. In paintball you can afford it if you expect it. You know how it looks before the shot is fired in your direction.

I've even let people walk right into my 4 o'clock right past me. The whole time I'm thinking "Don't ****ing move... Get the back shot, don't move just don't move." Mind you this is without a ghillie. With a ghillie I generally don't run into this issue but either way it's nerve racking but fun. I wasn't even prone.

That's what I do, if I can barrel tag them, that suits me just fine.

The thing I hate is being with a teammate that fires barely in optimum range. At that range it's a luck-shot by volume. By God's good graces he might hit him but he doesn't understand he's suckered himeself into a prolonged firefight that I have to out manuever the guy to end it by setting up killzones.

That's what I do. I rely on my self training of concealment and maneuvering and tactics to win a firefight.

The best thing the commander has ever done is to put me on the flank. One of the other best things is to use me for Recon/Scout details. I like Recon/Scout details the best.

If I'm defending, then as soon as I can be SURE I can take the shot. Don't want to give up my position for no reason.

For attacking, I like the long flank idea. Get behind there backs, and get close enough to take them out with one shot. Or twelve.

All in all. Get them close.... then let loose.

Lol, I did that today while we were playing woodsball, I was hiding in the bushes, all I hear, "It's clear guys! CHAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGE!!!" I guess his teammates weren't happy after I shot them all

Re: How close do you let your target get before you fire?

my favorite spot is on my home field, there's a transisiton between some open 'battlefield' and some bush, with low to md height grass in the transition zone.
i'll lay prone under a spruce tree in the grass, near a path in.

people always take the path in :P

once they get close enough, in groups of two or three, i light them up. they look around not knowing who the heck shot them. i'd lie dead still, and they couldn't find me. they'd go back with raised hands, and two or three more team members would go back to investigate, along the same path.

by the time i had taken out about 14 people like this, they sent a couple of guys in as decoys and about four speedballers back a few paces. i saw the decoys first, lit them up, they saw me and pointed me out ot the speedballers, after they died (not a commendable tactic) and then they rained paint down upon me. i managed ot sprint behind a tree, but it doesnt matter cause they painted the crap out of it anyway.

it was really fun, and effective. a good example of watching outr kill zones and engagement distance (if i had a better position i'd have seent he speedballers and let the two decoys pass)

Re: How close do you let your target get before you fire?

20ft if i can, If Ive got my self a hidden location and I'm shooting either of my Tippmanns then once i fire my location is revealed. I like to know giving up my location earned me an elimination, I make sure i hit my target when i can!

Now if im hidden with my AutoMag then Ill shoot at 70ft because they'll have no clue where its coming from as long as i dont shoot strings.

Re: How close do you let your target get before you fire?

I like to let them get pretty stinkin close. Then a quick shot to the face. That way it does not bruise too bad. I like to let them get fairly close as to prevent giving my position away. Then maybe you can get two of them.
