| Re: How do you play in the woods? I know the layout of the fields at my local paintball field pretty well, so I find the weakness to the layout and exploit it to hell. If one side has more cover, or a certain treeline I can flank around, or whatever, I do it. Its hard to keep track, but I usually ended up with about a 3:1 KD Ratio

| Re: How do you play in the woods? I'd like to be a flank and manuver guy but I wind up being a run and gun guy because I'm usually rec ballin with a mixed bunch of kids and grups. If I was on a team per se I would like to employ tactics for manuvering to defeat the opponent. |

| Re: How do you play in the woods? It looks like alot of people like to flank and I am one of them, but how does that work out if everyone is flanking . How do you flank a flanker??? When I genrally play with my friends we set up a plan and sometime that plan requires me to lay cover, sneak around, or just go straight up the gut. |

I agree! a flanking move cannot get very far without support by fire. The way some games go everyone is on support and no-one flanks which leads to attrition and then you can flip a coin to decide who wins the battle. But if you add a flank element that can get their backs to a tapeline, you have just gained an advantage. Then if the support line is trained up and they lift and shift their fire while the flanking element crosses their front keeping the enemy in crossfire the whole time and bingo(!) you have a textbook assault (fm 7-8 I think). Trouble I have is getting the opfor to read what their part is in the book ![]() |

| Re: How do you play in the woods? It really depends on the situation, mission, scenario, location and field layout, OPFOR/BLUEFOR and if I'm with a team. I answered "run and gun" because the question was posed as me as a single entity out playing paintball. Any other situation than that and plans start to develop. I do believe in aggression of force though, I've seen it be far more effective than being timid up the hill. I remember charging up the big hill at Civil War 05 with no paint and no air directing about 50 noobs to take the flag station. We took it, from the open side no less, and you should have seen the looks of astonishment when I told everyone that I was running dry for the last 15 minutes.

| Re: How do you play in the woods? I am not sure that those were the best options for a pole, but I was surprized to see how my vote compaired to the others. We do play a lot of defend and attack type scenerios so that is the answer I went with. I do change quite a bit in my style of play, especially when I hear my opponents refering to me and my style of play. I like to change it up a bit and give them the surprize. One thing I didn notice is that for a short time there I was playing point and I sure did go through quite a bit more paint. So now I play point when neccessary and hold my position the rest of the time. |

| Re: How do you play in the woods? I go way out of my way to get around behind the other team and then work my way to the front from the back of their line taking them out as I go. Its priceless to see the expression on their faces afterward. But If I'm feeling care free and havent had much action all day a good ole chare right to the front line set a base of fire and then start moving up quickly on them. Its sort of intimidating to them. ![]() Oh by the way you flank a flanker by flanking out farther than them. Ive done it a hundred times
